One action of the Queen that made the staff anxious was her refusal to wear protective headwear when she rode her horses around Windsor Great Park. Whether partying with Freddie Mercury backstage at the Rainbow or hanging out in the control room during the recording of Sheer Heart Attack, Rock always had his camera to hand and the results, as this cracking Queen book demonstrates, were often spectacular.

After seeing all the Platinum Jubilee celebrations at the beginning of the month I really enjoyed reading this biography about our Sovereign. What I loved most about this Royal Biography is definitely the photos, they are such a lovely addition - I found it hard to not peak at them before getting to the page! In addition to a useful live discography is a lengthy listing of bootlegs, which, again, makes for fascinating reading. A stunning photo of the Queen surrounded by a kind of lacy pattern with crowns and tiny gold flecks like little jewels. The Queen di Andrew Morton è un bellissimo libro biografico sulla nostra regina del Regno Unito Elisabetta. As she celebrates her platinum anniversary, the first monarch to reign for seventy years, she has, during a once in a lifetime pandemic, become the reassuring face of hope and optimism, the grandmother to the nation. The Queen and Prince Phillip did agree on a lot of things but at the same time there were instances when the Queen’s position clashed with the ideas of others including her family. I loved the photographs used in the book and found out many new facts and snippets of information I didn't know before reading this book.

Drama Queen: One Autistic Woman and a Life of Unhelpful Drama Queen: One Autistic Woman and a Life of Unhelpful

I am a big fan of the Royal Family and when I heard this book by Andrew Morton was coming out, I knew I’d want to read it. With grateful thanks for being honoured with a pioneer of the nation reception and being invited to Buckingham Palace and meeting you and other Royal family members . I let a lot more about the queen that I never know about and I learnt a lot more about her life and how she loved it so well and dignified. Written in a pleasantly laid-back style, we can report that we read the entire thing in a single weekend and it’s to Hince’s credit that he refrains from dishing any unnecessary dirt while spilling the beans. He encapsulated everything Elizabeth, from her childhood, her Coronation, her love for her husband and her passion in her duty as our Queen.Addressing each album in turn, a hefty introduction to each gives way to a deep analysis of the tracklist that includes creative and technical details, snippets of info, credits and more. From a young age the Queen loved horses and when she was horse riding she felt like herself and to a certain extent free. Morton conveys how although the Queen has of course led a privileged life, she’s also been in a gilded cage and has served with pride and steadfastness the entire time. His repertoire consists of 36 books about royalty, and he is known to contribute to broadcasts and newspapers across the globe on royal matters. This was an impromptu airport purchase while I was riding the Plantinum Jubilee long weekend high in the UK and I thoroughly enjoyed it!

Queen of Our Times by Robert Hardman | Waterstones

May her example continue to inspire us as we come to terms with the end of an era and the beginning of a new monarchy. Peter Hince, also affectionately known as Ratty, headed Queen’s road crew during their heyday and, as such, was ideally placed to relate some highly revealing stories from the those lauded times. I also felt it was a fair portrayal of events, as far as I could tell and I was reassured to read the long list of references at the back of the book, showing the sources that Andrew Morton has used. Family crises forced Her Majesty to take a welcome break from the drudgery of the interminable arrival of red boxes and the reading of official papers: Princess Margaret wishing to marry her divorced equerry, Group Captain Peter Townsend; the publicity surrounding Prince Charles and his long-term mistress; Princess Margaret again and Roddy Llewelyn; and the death of Princess Diana, the most emotional part of this biography. Neal Preston was Queen’s official tour photographer from the mid-70s until 1986 and this lavish publication, produced with the full blessing of the band, covers every facet of their touring life during that busy period.I know that we here in small town coldwater ohio mourn the loss of the queen just as the rest of the world is. I feel sorri for all the deaths she endured in her life and I respect her for the way she handle certain situations within the royal family.
