They are fast and hit hard, but they are not durable and, with a save of 5+, they will most likely melt in a protracted fight. To find out just how they’ll be adapting to these changes, we asked our playtester and tournament-winning master of all things Slaanesh Mike Willson to give us his thoughts and advice.

How to start collecting Chaos Daemons in 2023

The Daemonettes are your bread and butter. You will need plenty of them, as they are the only unconditional battleline for Slaanesh and an extremely useful unit. 10, 20 and 30 can be summoned using depravity points and with their run and charge ability can cover quite some terrain.

Assembling the Exalted Chariot leaves also some daemonettes models behind that could be used to assemble or convert other heralds (Viceleader). Contents: 1 x Ishrann Soulrender (Hero), 10 x Namarti Thralls (Battleline) and 3 x Arkhelian Guard (Batteline if General is Arkhelian Hero) Mortals still indulge their desire and obsessions beyond all sense of decency, and glory in forbidden excess – and while such horrors persist, so too will the followers of Slaanesh. Where once the Dark Prince compelled his subjects to greater depths of depravity, his greater daemons now rule in his stead. Champions of Slaanesh, however, still grow in power, gaining dark blessings and gifts… This is a great-value box set that gives you an immediate collection of fantastic Daemons of Slaanesh miniatures, which you can assemble and use right away in games of Warhammer Age of Sigmar! As for the Chaos Lord on Karkadrak – it’s a fun little combat monster that has impressive offensive and defensive capabilities, a nice leader to have when you’re learning a new faction.

Dreadful Visage –Casting Value 7. Predatory endless spell that moves 8″. After moving, select the closest unit and roll 6 dice. For each 4+ deal a mortal wound, also subtract 1 from bravery of enemy units within 12″, and add 1 to Slaanesh units within 12″. Unlike Mesermizing Mirror this can affect your own guys so make sure it ends closest to an enemy unit. Not bad otherwise. As Daemon Heroes are the bread and butter of Slaanesh, this is often how these lists work. Load up with Daemon Leaders and then counter-balance it with mortal heroes in the Battleline. Another named Herald on foot and your only real ranged option and anti-magic the Rapturess isn’t great. It has 2 firing modes: one for groups and one for bigger targets and a really long range to boot. It gives one free depravity point per turn for each of them, and lets you screw with wizards 18″ away but cost a lot for what they do. It’s a niche you otherwise don’t really have so it’s worth considering if you can fit them in. Bladebringer (On Seeker Chariot/Hellflayer/Exalted Chariot) A good example of a Maggotkin army, and would mix brilliantly with the Daemons of Nurgle box for a nice flavourful Nurgle list. If you build one of the Pusgoyle Blightlords you’l end up with a spare). If you build them as the Pusygoyle Blighttlords and make the Lord of Blights your general you’ll have a game legal 500pts army out of the box as they become Batteline. A truly iconic Warhammer monster, the Greater Daemons of Tzeentch are called Lords of Change: terrifying, 20-foot-tall hybrids of human, reptile, and bird of prey who walk on their hind legs or fly on huge bird-wings, and channel the warpinto potent psyker spells.At the start of the battle, if your Daemon and Mortal units are equal to each other gain D3 command points. If they are equal and you have more than 12 units, gain D6 Syll’Esskan counts as 2 units. While you probably won’t hit 12 units, particularly with the price hike, this is pretty nuts. On a 4+ they lose a command point and you gain one. Artefacts that generate CP are common but this goes one step further. Very nice. Start Collecting Daemons of Slaanesh – Warhammer Age of Sigmar (AoS).

On the upside, though, that’s one of the big draws of the Chaos Daemons army: it’s one big, weird, terrifying patchwork quilt, and you can freely throw together a horde from whichever gods’ daemons you fancy. Contents: 1 Warden King (Hero), 1 Cogsmith (Hero), 10 x Ironbreakers (Batteline) and 1 x Gyrobomber Your friends will hate you –Due to the previous reason, Slaanesh can have a bad reputation in the meta scene. I wouldn’t worry too much here though, they’re just not any fun.
