Description

Inspired in style, if not tone, by her love of 1950s housewife compendiums, the expansive guide is divided into chapters dedicated to the home, food and drink, fashion, health and beauty, life and finances, and friends, relationships and family. There's very little cohesion, jumping from tip to tip, serious to frivolous and would leave you relying on the index to ever find something again.

From freezing bananas to off-season clothes, money-saving

siis ma arvan, et selle osas, kuidas lapsele nime valida või kuidas leinata, ei saa ikka niisuguses käsiraamatustiilis nõu anda.Journalist, broadcaster and brand founder Sali Hughes shares her beauty routine, her memories and her wisdom in My Life in Beauty, a GH series that celebrates and explores the unique nature of every individual's relationship with their looks, and finds out exactly what our favourite celebs use to look so good.

I'm very happy to look 47 but I want to look good at 47; I don't see why I need to have number 11 lines between my eyes if I don't want to, so I get Botox. Maybe if you are very interested in Sali Hughes the media personality you will like this book (much like I enjoyed Whisky in a Teacup, mainly because of its appeal as Reese Witherspoon merch). In 2018, she co-founded the non-profit collective Beauty Banks and in 2022 she was awarded an Honorary Fellowship from Cardiff University for services to journalism and charity.A lot of the guides needed beefing up - helping grieving friends needs more than a few paragraphs and the lists of what you need in a kitchen/etc. We caught up with Sali before the release of her latest book, Everything is Washable* and Other Life Lessons (4th estate, 15th September) to discover her best beauty hacks and just why she decided to launch her very own skincare range. Sali Hughes offers striking good sense on: home; food and drink, fashion; health and beauty; life and finances; friends, relationships and family. It’s worth spending money on foundation and perfume but for the most part you can get great mascara, lipstick and eye shadow from chemists and supermarkets. As for skincare, it’s certainly not true that the more you spend, the higher the concentration of ingredients.
