Description

So after that we loaded the Intel Core i5-10500 CPU with Prime95 Small FFTs, so that with Base Frequency Boost about 100-102 Watt TDP is reached and notes the temperature at low, medium and maximum speed. According to Arctic, the P-series fan features a newly developed motor that runs quieter and more efficiently, thanks to its 20°C lower coil temperature compared with traditional fan motors. This increases fan lifespan and reduces power down from 0.25A to just 0.07A, which is effectively a 72% power consumption saving. The P-series fan used in the Freezer 7 X also has a broad PWM speed range of 300-2000 RPM. The fan volume is measured with a sound pressure level meter in dB from a distance of 100cm. Additionally we determine the respective speed. Arctic Freezer 7 X test results … Pressure-optimised Fan: With a PWM controlled, pressure-optimised 92 mm fan, the Freezer 7 X offers high cooling power at a low price. Produkto pavadinimas - "Freezer 7 X" - kompaktiškas daugialypis suderinamas procesoriaus aušintuvas

The Freezer 7 X is only 132.5 mm in height. Except for rarities like the Thermalright TA120 EX Mini (White), it is significantly more low-profile than coolers with 120 mm fans. Arctic doesn’t use a 92 mm fan like its predecessors, but a half-size larger fan – a 100 mm fan. With the fan removed we can see all 44 of the heatsink fins with their spiked design at the fan side. Even though this is a cheap cooler, it seems to be well built and constructed from high-quality copper and aluminium materials with a sturdy feel to it. In the following Arctic Freezer diagram you can see from top to bottom the results of the Intel Core i5-10500 CPU in idle with 100% speed, i.e. approx. 2089 rpm, below with 60% at approx. 1422 rpm and finally with 20% speed at approx. 525 rpm. After that, these three speed ranges follow again with identical volume at Prime95 Small FFTs full load. Thanks to a combination of alloy and lubricant developed in Germany, the friction within the bearing is reduced, leading to greater efficiency. In this way, less heat is generated, there is less bearing noise and the life of the fan is extended. Direct Touch Heat Pipes The cooler is always fastened via a clasp with two windows, which catch on the hooks of the frame from above and below. The windows are attached to the clip via screws so that they can be loosened for convenient mounting. However, you must not forget to tighten them afterwards, on both sides, so that the pressure of the cooler is even. Screwing a cooler in a smaller case can be quite complicated due to the tight space. Memory won’t cross your path though, the Freezer 7 X doesn’t interfere above the DIMM slots. The Freezer 7 X uses a fan motor newly developed by ARCTIC. This runs less audibly and more efficiently, so that the temperature of the coils is 20 °C lower than with conventional motors. This increases the lifespan of the fans considerably, allowing ARCTIC to grant a 6-year warranty period for the Freezer 7 X.

Offset Heat Pipes Enable Optimal Heat Dissipation Out with the old, in with the new. With the new Freezer 7 X, we're able to present a successor that not only builds upon the success of its renowned predecessor - it outshines it. The Freezer 7 X reaps the benefits of an improved heatsink design along with a reworked heat pipe layout. In conjunction with the fan, which is optimized for high static pressure, the ARCTIC Freezer 7 X sets new standards in cooling. Compared to its predecessor, a performance increase of almost 10 % could be tested — and at a price that has been driven down by optimized and more efficient manufacturing processes. The Freezer 7 X uses direct touch heatpipes. This ensures that the heat to be dissipated is transferred directly to the heatpipes without an additional material layer, and transported into the heatsink via the pipes. The lower profile is one of the biggest advantages of this cooler, especially in this lower price range. However, the toll for this is a significantly smaller fin area than that of, for example, the competing SilentiumPC Spartan 5. Its fins also feature more prominently molded protrusions to increase the overall radiating area. Something similar is also present on the Freezer 7 X, although here it is more kind of relatively shallow “imprints” (rather than a proper molding) from the underside of the ribs. In addition to operating more quietly, even at maximum speed, the Freezer 7 X built-in fan motor is also much more efficient. The power consumption was reduced from 0.25 A to 0.07 A, which corresponds to an effective savings of 72 % in power consumption. ARCTIC engineers were also able to reduce the volume by 40 %, allowing the Freezer 7 X to run at a whisper-quiet 0.3 sone when at maximum speed. 10 % More Cooling Capacity with Freezer 7 XThe temperatures presented in the graphs will be average Delta temperatures measured over the length of the test. We will calculate the Delta temperature by deducting the ambient temperature in the test room from the measured CPU temperature, both at idle and under load. Corsair TM30 thermal compound is used at all times to ensure consistency and all CPU fans will be set to maximum RPM to determine the raw thermal performance. A test system on a benchtable is used for the review. This enables us to exclude factors such as heat accumulation in the case. The test system consists of the following components. Direct-Touch Heatpipes: Two direct-touch heat pipes with pre-applied MX-2 thermal paste enable ideal heat dissipation. To measure the thermal performance of the Arctic Freezer 7 X, we devised an easily repeatable series of tests. The only variable is the coolers themselves to ensure the results can be accurately compared against one another.Arctic’s fan rotor may only have five blades, but with an extra-large area, larger than on standard 7-blade fans in the 120 mm format. To reduce air resistance and thus reduce noise, the long edge of the fins is serrated. Technically, this is solved well and it can’t be constructed significantly more efficiently within such a small footprint. The heatpipe spacing is also made with an even heat distribution in mind.
