Description

Due to being able to inflict Slow from an almost unlimited range, accessories like the Anklet of the Wind or Magiluminescence alongside Swiftness Potions can help make the fight much more manageable.

The Deerclops will occasionally stand in place and roar, inflicting the Slow debuff on all players for 12 / 24 / 30 seconds. The Deerclops fight is one of two boss fights that consist of a single destructible entity, the other being the Empress of Light. Most night vision devices do not take AA or AAA batteries. They tend to use the CR123A (123A) batteries. CR123A is usually used in photography gear and tactical flashlights. Avoid lingering directly above the Deerclops, as the shadow hands it summons in this situation are very dangerous. Gen-1 night vision technology, while not cutting edge technology, is still valuable. It should enable you to see about 60 yards, in poor ambient light, without using the Pulsed IR illuminator.

Recommendations

If you want to use night vision, you may need to plan ahead and get some rechargeable CR123A batteries with an AC/DC charger for them. Deerclops' boss health bar will disappear from the screen when suitably far enough away from it that the boss fight is not active.

Fixed an issue where Deerclops' health did not scale up with increased player count in Expert/Master multiplayer games. One may find it useful to bring a Warmth Potion or the Hand Warmer to the battle as the Chilled and Frozen debuffs can easily kill the player if inflicted. This will give you the ability to keep a fresh supply of batteries for your night vision and tactical flashlights, and to recharge them from AC outlets, DC outlets, and our solar panels. When the illuminator is activated, it will light up your surroundings almost like it’s broad daylight (ok, green-scale daylight, but you know what I mean). If all players are dead or there are none nearby when it spawned naturally, the Deerclops will wander around instead of immediately despawning. This will happen until a player gets close to the boss, at which point the fight will resume as normal. It will despawn after a few minutes have passed while players are not near or upon leaving and re-entering the world. One of these really good, consumer-grade, Gen 1 products is the Yukon NV 1×24 Goggles. They sit in that sweet spot, balancing cost and technology. Player should place their spawn point away from where Deerclops can wander, as Deerclops can stay around the spawn area. Finding inexpensive Night Vision can be challenging, but through my research I discovered that night vision toys use real night vision technology.

This is especially recommended for Mediumcore players, as they can be left defenseless near Deerclops if they die in the middle of the fight.

The Deerclops' purple invulnerable form in Terraria looks similar to its Winter's Feast form in Don't Starve Together. The Bestiary entry for the Deerclops: " Hailing from a distant land, this cyclopic monstrosity lurks in cold places, wreaking havoc on those who disturb it." Gallery [ ] I found 2 of them and tested them out. Both of these listed use some minor magnification, but with practice I was able to walk around with them. If someone is using another set of Night Vision goggles, this light will be as bright as a spotlight. Make sure to keep this in mind, and test before you end up in a SHTF situation.

To get right to it, players that want to spawn this new boss in Terraria must first craft a Deer Thing by combining three Flinx Fur, one Lens, and either five Crimtane Ore or five Demonite Ore at an Altar. These material requirements are farily easy to fulfill, allowing fans to summon Deerclops quite early in pre-hardmode. In fact, fans can fight Deerclops before they even slay the Eater of Worlds, though the battle may be a bit difficult at that point in the game. Lucy the Axe: Utters phrases when used on a tree, put in a trash can, or not used. - Drop Rate: 25% The Deerclops is part of the Don't Starve Together crossover. Many of the items of this crossover are dropped by the Deerclops.

Between the versions 1.4.3 and 1.4.3.6, there was an NPC named DeerclopsLeg in the files which did not actually appear during the fight. It was invincible [1] and had its own AI [2]. It was removed in the 1.4.4 update.
