These deaths were faked and Hilter and Braun really fled from Berlin to South America, taking on new identities. Klein spins an unlikely narrative wherein Hitler, Eva Braun and Hitler’s private secretary Martin Bormann flee across the Atlantic to Argentina under false identities after simulating their deaths. Finally - and this is probably the most infuriating aspect of this abject excuse for a book - almost every time a character speaks, they begin their sentence by saying the name of the person they’re addressing.

Read those if you're looking for a superb alternate-reality future thriller ("Fatherland") or a edge-of-your-sit thriller about the Nazi's plan to build a Forth Reich ("Holcroft"). Quite Interesting fact: amongst Martin Bormann's children was his eldest son, also named Martin, who became a well-known theologian and toured Germany, speaking about the horrors of the Third Reich. Chief Inspector Nicolas Vargas of the Buenos Aires Police Department and Lieutenant Troy Hembury of the LAPD are sucked into a dark political conspiracy concealing an incredible historical truth which stretches from Adolf Hitler's infamous Berlin bunker to Buenos Aires and to Washington and which threatens the very heart and soul of American democracy. We don’t share your credit card details with third-party sellers, and we don’t sell your information to others. I also love how the three thieves had planned everything for months, including getting rid of the dirt, timings (though they got this slightly wrong as only 90 boxes were taken), even their encounters with the police were calculated and planned. It intertwines into modern American politics and a wonderful bank robbery plot with the descriptions of characters and places fresh and engaging. One of the enduring conspiracy theories of the 20 th century is whether Adolf Hitler actually survived the end of the Second World War and that killer hook forms the starting point for The Counterfeit Candidate.

if that's not one of the 'slight of hands in writing a fictional historical book especially of WW2 and the leaders of that ers? The story moves along at a fast and determined pace and there is much to take in in terms of plot and malevolence, in fact there are some truly unlikable characters but all credit to the author for making this such an intriguing read.I think it could create brilliantly funny TV, as the boys come to terms with such a new and challenging environment. He astonished the two western leaders by claiming that Hitler had eluded his Red Army, escaped from Berlin and was hiding somewhere in Patagonia. This is an intriguing story and one of the few books that has had me turning pages until the candle guttered. A wonderful and entertaining narrative which mixes up European history with contemporary America and gives the reader a wonderful experience. It would also give them a platform of power and respectability for Hitler’s son, enabling him to set up a new home in the United States, where he could father an heir, who could go on to become a world leader, achieving the ultimate prize of the Presidency.

Brian Klein is a multi-award winning Television Director, with over twenty-five years’ experience in the industry. However, with magnificent story telling you are carried through this roller coaster of a story that will keep you at the edge of your seat and with a mere 259 pages, the pace is fast, absorbing and to the point without all the superfluous bumf that authors sometimes use to fill up the pages. I wish I could share the excitement and detail of the final few chapters but of course that would spoil the plot for you! The characters are accessible and some are easy to like and some not so, but you bring them on your journey from the heist to the end, or is that just the beginning? Paz holds a number of key meetings with his staff, sitting on a stone bench in front of the giant marble statue of his hero, which provides a stunning backdrop. In comes police detective Vargas who conveniently has a good friend Hembury who's a cop in San Francisco. In fact, the uncovering of the Nazi plot only spurs Vargas on, as his dead wife had been Jewish and her grandfather had been one of the hundreds of thousands of Jews who been forced to flee Nazi Germany.

way too obvious and cheap mr klein of your "goal" here of the republican specific candidate for president-way too cheap.

They plan to build the Fourth Reich and own a huge pharmaceutical company, essentially taking over the USA. I can see why given the circumstances and what happened to the bodies as to why people would think that. I enjoyed the way the story flipped around in time and became increasingly fond of the two detectives Chief Inspector Nicolas Vargas of the Buenos Aires Police Department and his American counterpart, Lieutenant Troy Hembury of the LAPD who really do have to keep their wits about them especially when the action really starts to heat up. TV director Brian Klein tells us why the Covid lockdown is to thank for his new novel, The Counterfeit Candidate, seeing the light of day, why all those years of reading thrillers has finally paid off, and gives us an exclusive sneak peek into the sequel. In 2012, three thieves pull off a heist which nets them millions of dollars and other valuables in Buenos Aires.
