HBO’s hotly-anticipated Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon is finally upon us, introducing viewers to House Targaryen during their rule of Westeros almost 200 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen. The production quality and cinematography are as expected - fantastic, epic and awe inspiring, aside from a couple of excessively dark scenes that were over and done with very quickly.

Showrunner Miguel Sapochnik, director Greg Yaitanes, Emma D’Arcy (Rhaenyra Targaryen), Eve Best (Rhaenys Targaryen), and more explore the emotional complexity Rhaenyra endures after hearing the Greens usurped the throne, Rhaenys’ change of heart, and the implications of Aemond and Luke’s encounter in Episode 10.
