Let's start with the art - there are a few artists on this run but there wasn't a bad one in the bunch. They are all exceptional and do well with the quiet moments (conversations) which is a must for someone drawing a Bendis story. The second solo series, Miles Morales: Ultimate Spider-Man, has an average issue rating of 8.2 out of 10 at Comic Book Roundup, [104] while the third series, Spider-Man, holds a rating of 7.6, [36] and the fourth, Miles Morales: Spider-Man, holds a rating of 8.4. [105] Alternate versions [ edit ] Ultimatum [ edit ] Miles as Ultimatum, from Miles Morales: Spider-Man #10 (November 2019) What an epic book with so many great twists and turns and like its the origin of Miles into the Ultimate universe and its so well done from trying to fit into the legacy to becoming his own hero and introducing his supporting cast and then whatever happens with the ending its flawlessly executed!Miles, who wants a normal life, is unhappy about having these abilities and resistant to the idea of risking his life to engage in superheroics, [50] a reaction that Bendis wrote to further contrast Miles with Parker. [23] However, after witnessing Spider-Man's death at the Green Goblin's hands, the guilt-ridden Miles realizes he could have helped. After Ganke suggests he assume the Spider-Man mantle, and learns from Gwen Stacy why Parker did what he did, Miles is inspired to try costumed crimefighting. [51]

I had previously read part of this story as a normal graphic novel, so it was great to read the whole origin of the character and his early adventures. If you are a fan of the character from the Into the Spider-Verse film or the Miles Morales video game, I highly recommend this.Stewart, Jon (August 4, 2011). My take on him is - his strengths are building characters and adding humour and keeping the pace of the plot moving and his weaknesses are he can fall in love with his dialogue a bit too much, and he isn't great at writing action scenes. Since we focus on one character and not a team we get to avoid the "snappy team patter" that can drive me crazy reading a Bendis book and since this is a character he obviously cares a lot about we get a lot of great character moments.

Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man,no.2(Nov. 2011).Marvel Comics. Also - I really hated the death of a main person in Miles' life. It has been done over and over again when a writer is lazy and needs his character to go through a crisis to kill off a close friend/family and it happens here. Not only is the death a been there done that it just isn't an interesting death. Cops are firing at the villain and a stray one kills the person. SIDE NOTE: the cops in this universe are dirt stupid. Scene after scene - they rush to the fight - they fire bullets that they know won't stop the villain but almost kill Spider-man and then when the villain flees or is stopped they draw their guns on Spider-man. This felt like it happened 20 times. It makes zero sense. Nobody trains the cops "hey, if it is super-villain a) stay away b) don't fire guns randomly c) stop trying to kill or arrest the obvious hero.
