Pair of Fusion Blasters - Fusion Blasters are anti-tank weapons that reduce reinforced armour to molten slag in the blink of eye. Afterwards the White Scars Chapter Master Jubal Khan, grievously tortured by the Red Corsairs and thought to be suffering mental distress, granted Kor'sarro his Psyber Berkut named Anzuq and essentially appointed the khan as the Chapter's war leader because of his own physical incapacity.

The khan of the 3 rd Brotherhood has faced many daunting foes and great challenges during his service with the Chapter, including facing an Alpha Level psyker on Delta Arbuthnot where the entire planet's population of Ratling agri-serfs was mind-controlled by the psyker and forced to raise arms against Imperial landowners, using their shovels against guards with autoguns. Like Commander Farsight, Shadowsun’s main use in an army is for getting access to the second Master of War activation; however, unlike him she is also able to contribute meaningfully to the action every turn of the battle, making her cost a much more palatable sacrifice. However, she is not immune to the usual problems of Tau and in fact exacerbates them in many ways, making her overall an underwhelming choice. More Emperor’s Chosen here, showing off some different toys alongside the staples. Most notably, Telemons appear to still be very good in this Shield Host, still extremely resilient and broadly deadly, and also pretty well specced for Tau hunting between their D2 anti-drone shots and D4 Crisis-crushing melee. Being able to turn off re-rolls against something that durable is also a way to actually genuinely stimie Tau that most armies just don’t have. Elsewhere, and making sense given its generally lower model count, this list sports an Inquisitor for Secondaries, and Kyria makes a whole bunch of sense as the choice there – she adds a clutch Fight Last on the charge for a key moment as well as the Psychic Action capability, and is even Ordo Xenos for To the Exclusion of All Else if you find here and some bikes away from the Shield Captain against Tau or Drukhari. A great choice as long as you have Dreadnoughts to screen her, and another thing I suspect we’ll see more of. A great run from Ben overall, with his only loss coming at the hands of the dreaded mirror match. Vincent Chandler – Adeptus Custodes – 4th Place Today we look at the Supreme Commander of the Tau Empire forces, Commander Shadowsun – and what to do with her in 9th Edition. The glow on the engines and guns (I remembered them later I swear) is pretty fast but could be improved on in the future, probably with a glaze or two of an intermediate purple.

Crisis Shas’ui [60pts]: Plasma Rifle [5pts], Cyclic Ion Blaster [10pts], Iridium Battlesuit [5pts], Shield Generator [5pts], T’au Flamer [5pts] Ten thousand mind-controlled Cadians were psychically forced by those Warp-dwelling entities to march across a minefield 100 kilometres wide under fire from the White Scars, Red Hunters and Celestial Lions Chapters. Kor'sarro Khan's greatest accomplishment, however, was successfully bringing the Hunt for Voldorius to its conclusion. Soon enough a surge of Tau reinforcements were able to land, bringing Stormsurge's to every major front on Prefectia. The suits were instrumental in blasting apart Imperial defenses and Hives, allowing for the Tau holdings on the planet to increase. With too many of their assets lost, the Astartes could not contest the Tau advances. Day by day the last Imperial strongholds fell, and the Ethereals declared Prefectia won. It was renamed Vas'talos in a grand celebration ceremony. Across the Tau Empire, propaganda portrayed this victory as their greatest yet. Shadowsun's image was boosted to the public and Ethereal Council alike, and she became a hero to the Tau. Tau propaganda broadcasts were kept on a loop for days afterwards as the Water Caste attempted to maximize the media value of the Prefectia victory. However to the Adeptus Terra, Prefectia had been of little strategic value and it was considered a minor loss on a minor front. The Imperials instead focused on reclaiming Agrellan. [1h] Kor'sarro Khan has brought nearly a score of hunts to a successful conclusion over his years as Master of the Hunt, beginning with his first such victory on the 3rd moon of the gas giant Mai IX. Some of the White Scars' greatest foes, such as the Daemon Prince Kernax Voldorius and the Eldar Corsair Varaliel, had evaded previous Masters of the Hunt only to have their heads severed by Kor'sarro's blade. His other targets have included the Daemon Prince known as Doomrider, and the Chaos Lord Paramyx of the Blighted Claw warband of Chaos Space Marines, who barely escaped with his life during the daemonic invasion of the Agri-world of Gehöft.

However, he sought to gain revenge upon the forces of Chaos for all they had done to the Chapter, and so he accepted the Rubicon Primaris transformation into a Primaris Space Marine. Phil Kelly: That’s a simple one. She’s up against an enemy she has no idea how to defeat – the foulest, most malignant evil in all the galaxy. Oh, and did I mention the civil war between the forces under her command? As you can see, the list is very long. Personally, I will be using Re’vas, Makhotep, Aleph-Null, Angrax, and Nauseous Rotbone or Maladus, but you can craft whatever team you please. Hive Tyrant [11 PL, 195pts, -1CP]: Adrenal Glands, 2x Monstrous Rending Claws, Power: Catalyst, Power: Psychic Scream, Power: Smite, Relic: Biomorphic Carapace, Stratagem: Alpha Leader-Beast, Toxin Sacs, Warlord, Warlord Trait: Rampaging Beast, Warlord Trait: Swarm Leader, WingsFarsight's first and greatest victories were won in the Arkunasha War. [2c] When the Tau colony there was threatened by Waaagh! Dok under Warboss Toofjaw, he led the Fire Warriors in a masterful defence against many times their own numbers. Using the immense canyons and gullies criss-crossing the desert to maximum effect, O'Shovah set the Ork invaders to chase shadows, constantly boxing off and destroying isolated elements wherever they turned at bay, earning him the famous title "farsight" for his actions. [2c] Possibly because of his ongoing battles against Ork forces, O'Shovah believes that close combat is a vital part of warfare, unlike most other Tau. O'shovah has become the renown master of the Mont'ka — aggressive tactic of the Tau forces. [6] Shadowsun: The Last of Kiru’s Line is a novella which could have easily worked but failed due to the direction it took. As an isolated short story it is adequate. Nothing exceptionally outstanding but fine for a few read throughs. As a character piece on the other hand, as the first book to have both a tau protagonist and show things from their perspective since Fire Warrior, it falls short of the mark. You can see the talent there, you can see the reasoning behind Braden Campbell’s decisions, you can see why the story was written in this way, but for all that there are big flaws in what he’s writing.
