Don’t get me wrong, Millesime Imperial still smells amazing, but I don’t want to pay that much for an aquatic, and one that doesn’t last at that.

After a month of maceration i have to say that performance is way better and somehow the scent is improved too.

I don’t care what Sterling saying about this being Unisex this is 100% a full blown womans perfume and it’s quite concerning men wearing it. The reason I'm not rating it 5 is cause a women told me it smells like something an old lady would wear, which I can kinda see why she said that. I had a decant of the 2018 batch of Creed's Milesime Imperial and i can say this is almost identical, its just lacking the salty bitterness Creed had but i think this version is even better. This reminds me a lot of baccarat rouge and another of Armaf's releases, Odyssey Mega Limited Edition.

It bears little resemblance to Aqua Di Gio and other aquatics from the 90s, with prominent salt and rindy melon against a mellow backdrop of smooth driftwood and clean amber. The opening will charm your senses with notes of sea salt and juicy fruit, followed by refreshing Sicilian lemon, bergamot, iris and sweet tangerine. Now I get salty watermelon with a sea-breeze accord of salinated marine effects, all very nuanced, with quite a nice little citrus on top and salty musk drydown.

A star that draws you towards a world of elegance, a creation that springs an ever-lasting grandeur, brings splendour to the eyes to deliver the most alleviating scent. The ozonic-sea-notes-bergamot-red-fruits-violet-combination is effervescently stimulating, which is tied to a masculine structure of white woods, sandalwood and ambroxan. Casual day wear in spring and summer suits this scent best, easy to wear but you have to be ok with unisex fragrances. Never had a problem with longevity and sillage until my most recent bottle of Imperial, a 2020 batch in the gold 3. Millesime imperial batch 12/15 … this is it it’s the best clone, but not so quality and refined and balanced as the older MI batches.

I think this actually would work on a woman much better, though in general I can see the appeal of this scent. Honestly, knowing this fragrance better than most, I am absolutely staggered, this IS vintage MI, down to the last detail; and although I personally never had major longevity issues with the Creed, this is far and away a better performer - on clothes, two sprays of this will last you 24 hours with good projection (provided you don't live beyond the Arctic Circle). I haven’t made it to the dry down to comment, as I went to sleep on it, but I can imagine it gets nicer. I am no “beast mode bro”, but I do have standards, and 2-3 hours isn’t cutting it for a scent that might as well be an eau de cologne.I own those anyway, but having inexpensive Bogart-strong dumb reach versions of them would sure stop me from hemming and hawwing over using my genuine bottles. Unlike Creed, which starts weak and grows more defined and stronger with age during maceration, Armaf's scent has gone from headache-inducingly strong, to mild and transparent. At the moment, I think the Armaf is the better scent (and no one has to see the tacky bottle unless you decide to show it to them).
