Description

The unhallowed and dreaded Lucifer Pattern Dreadnought is one of the oldest patterns of Dreadnought known to current Imperial savants. There exists little information on the Lucifer Pattern, with only vague descriptions implying that the armour configuration of the Castraferrum Pattern Dreadnought is far more to the fore than on the Lucifer. The Redemptor Dreadnought is a new pattern of Adeptus Astartes Dreadnought specifically created to serve alongside the Primaris Space Marines. It, like the standard pattern Castraferrum Dreadnought, is intended to provide mortally wounded Primaris Marines with another chance to continue to serve the Emperor.

The majority of Dreadnoughts in use by the Space Marines conform to the pattern known as the Castraferrum, of which the Mars Castraferrum Pattern Mark IV and Mark V are the most common. In appearance, the Castraferrum is very different from other types of Dreadnought, very few of which exist outside of the stasis-sealed reliquary chambers of the Adeptus Astartes. Primaris Apothecary ( Helix Adept • Apothecary Biologis) • Primaris Librarian • Vanguard Librarian • Primaris Chaplain ( Judiciar) • Primaris Techmarine A Castraferrum Pattern Mark V Dreadnought of the Ultramarines Chapter in combat, armed with an Assault Cannon and Power Fist. They can accelerate from a thudding stomp to a thunderous, loping gait that shakes the ground, barrelling through hails of fire in glorious defiance. Chapter Master with Master-crafted Heavy Bolt Rifle [8 PL, 145pts, -1CP]: Adept of the Codex, Chapter Command: Chapter Master, Seal of Oath, Storm of Fire, Stratagem: Exemplar of the Chapter, WarlordRedemptor Dreadnoughts are giant war engines that crush bone and splinter skulls as they bludgeon through the enemy ranks. Taller, broader and more cunningly wrought than the Dreadnoughts of traditional design, these goliaths of battle are powered by hyper-dense Plasma Reactors and sophisticated fibre bundles. The sepulchre that contains a Chapter's Dreadnoughts is a holy shrine, and the Techmarines tend to their charges with great care, fastidiously applying sacred oils and unguents while chanting the Litanies of Preservation. To honour these courageous warriors, the fallen heroes are allowed to sleep away the Terran centuries, until need calls them to war once more. While we had our last review covering a Dreadnought last year as part of our Horus Heresy Age of Darkness coverage with the Contemptor Dreadnought plastic kit, today we want to cover the new Space Marine Brutalis Dreadnought, available from today via the Strike Force Agastus. If you followed the steps in our review and only glued those parts in the "built units" we showed and can be seen below, you have a modular, easily magnetized variant of the Brutalis Dreadnought.

Some weapons have ‘Blast’ listed in their profile’s abilities. These are referred to as Blast weapons. In addition to the normal rules, the following rules apply to Blast weapons: Of course, the design is almost identical to the Redemptor, but I like the symmetry that the melee arms bring, and the additional armour on the thighs and knees. I’m still not a fan of the bulbous shape of the “torso”, and the way the chassis weapons’ barrels extrude, but Primaris fans will certainly get their money’s worth here. Close combat oriented chapters will get a nice new toy to play with. Desolation Marines review The Primaris Redemptor Dreadnought comes as 109 components, and is supplied with a Citadel 90mm Round base and a transfer sheet. There has been a lot of ranting online about the design of the Desolation Marines. Personally, I don’t think it’s all that bad, but I do think that the more bulky Gravis armour would have been better suited to the oversized (and honestly over-designed) weapons. The models stay true to the Primaris design ethos of turning everything up to 11. Who needs good old frag and krak missiles when you can have SUPERfrag and SUPERkrak. Primaris Lieutenant review I haven't built the Redemptor Dreadnought, just this Brutalis Dreadnought, so my comparison is with the Contemptor from the Horus Heresy kit and the older plastic and metal dreads from earlier editions of Warhammer 40,000. This was a blast. It is a huge improvement compared to the Castraferrum, much more dynamic, and incredibly growth in size and with all the poseable pieces, it almost felt like an action figure (and I don't mean that in a negative way). These are probably the most controversial models you’ll find in Strike Force Agastus. If you know the Intercessor or Hellblasters kit you know what to expect here. This kit has two identical copies of two medium size sprues that build five models each, and ten 32mm bases. Each set of sprues features: superkrak (with 3 open and 2 closed hatches), 5 superfrag (with 3 open and 2 closed hatches), and 1 Vengor launcher weapon attachments (with open and closed hatch)

The Ultramarines Redemptor Dreadnought is extremely efficient; you’ll be able to make maximum use of both your shooting and melee weapons by charging into combat, then gunning down your opponents with the full force of your weapons. A Dreadnought is a cybernetic combat walker of intermediate size used by the Chapters of the Adeptus Astartes as heavy infantry support for their Space Marine companies. The most common form of Dreadnought deployed in the 41st Millennium is officially designated a Castraferrum Pattern Dreadnought. Any Mark IV or Mark V Castraferrum Dreadnought may replace the built-in Storm Bolter from their Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon(s) with any of these options: A Mark IV Doomglaive Dreadnought of the Grey Knights Chapter armed with a Psycannon and a Dreadnought Close Combat Weapon. With that being said, the Brutalis is the third variant of the Primaris age walkers, if you include the Invictor Tactical Warsuit, which shares part of the design as well, but uses a still properly living marine instead of the remnants of a veteran.

In the 41st Millennium there exist few examples of Dreadnought patterns beyond the Castraferrum pattern, with the more advanced Contemptor Pattern Dreadnoughts being an extremely rare sight. Other patterns, such as the Deredeo Pattern Dreadnought and Leviathan Pattern Siege Dreadnought are even rarer, with very few examples known to still exist, only to be unleashed from a Chapter's armoury during the times of greatest desperation. Brutalis Fists with built-in, wrist-mounted, twin-linked Bolt Rifles (As replacement for Brutalis Talons) Smashing the Emperor’s enemies apart with giant metal fists is about as fun as it gets in the 41st Millennium, but do you know how you can have twice as much fun? Simple, have twice as many fists . And now that the Chapter foundries of the Space Marines have discovered this blessed truth, Strike Force Agastus comes with a shiny new Brutalis Dreadnought.
