Content and Trigger Warnings: Abuse on and off the page, death, gun violence, sexual assault, drug and alcohol use, violence and dubious activities. Before I knew it, the seconds, minutes and hours went by and I become so absorbed in these characters story that I didn’t want it to end. As I said the first book in the series Freestyle begins with the protagonist’s, Penelope or Pen, audition for a chance at a new life, at a dance school. Three years since we’ve seen her, talked to her, laughed with her, danced with her, fucking touched her.

If you love dance, your men on the criminal side, alpha hot holes, and the friends-to-enemies-to-lovers trope, this is for you. If you love RH books, where all of the guys have completely different personalities but compliment one another then you will love this book. However, this is still a 4 star read because of the men and the world building - and I can't wait for the 2nd book in the series!pretty addictive, and though it may be a completely ridiculous storyline, it was an ENJOYABLE ridiculous storyline. Nothing could prepare you for the turns of events and the twist and turns that this book presents itself.

If you love dance, your men on the criminal side, alpha hot holes and the enemies-to-lovers trope, this is for you. This does leave on one hell of a cliffhanger and in the middle of a scene I normally would not mind but I am so repulsed and enraged I want to punch something. Actually, I’m fairly sure I’m a born again virgin, and my hymen has grown back for all the lack of use. A lot of the relationship part of this book took place in flashback chapters because our main characters knew each other as kids.Let's all feel bad for Pen, who literally has no redeeming qualities whatsoever other than carrying for her little sister. Yes, the art of dance is so lovingly portrayed here, so fundamental to the emotional progression of our story and the characters’ development that it becomes a character in and of itself.

Not my fav approach normally because I’m impatient, but here it really worked, even if it meant the overall progress in the story is slower because we’re building two concurrent stories. But, it keeps you hooked, anxious to find out what is happening back in the timeline you were exploring, and it really serves our characters well- helps us understand them and also the impact of the past on the present as Bea skillfully juxtaposes the past and present- in character voice and emotive tone, in how they look, and, brilliantly, in how they dance. This is described beautifully with only a few things being revealed at a time, leaving the reader in a perfect place of knowing nothing but having all the guesses. The flashbacks going back to when they first met was what I was living for as you got to experience the start of their friendship that soon turned into something bigger, something that was unavoidable.

But this author gives us her version, one that is completely different and in a way that screams BETTER! I sat through about an hour of my friend summarizing the series and it’s the worst thing I have ever heard in my life.Bea Paige lives a very secretive life in London… she likes red wine and Haribo’s (preferably together) and occasionally swings around poles when the mood takes her. Of course the guy himself clearly has no problem with losing one best friend and the girl he loves, but okay. Bea Paige slayed with book 1 and I am dying to get my hands on the other books, especially after that cliffhanger!
