He died of cancer a few years back, and none of these artists' art looks quite as good as it once did. It’s a question that’s been on my mind for most of this series, just who is narrating, and how do they know so much? Even when the plans of others go awry, his preparation lets him be at exactly the right place and right time to take the eye. David Marquez's artwork is fantastic and King's storytelling chops are sufficient to keep you engaged, even as you begin to realize that none of Killing Time will really matter in the long run.

Killing Time is a Stanely Kubrick inspired, action-packed thrill ride that never loses the voice and intimacy King has shown with his work on Batman.

Needless to say, the MacGuffin never matters, though King spends several baffling pages in ancient Greece, somehow in relation to the MacGuffin. Before, I could at least say the guy had a firm handle on the craft, but Killing Time is so confoundingly out of sequence that it ceases to be fun by the end. All throughout, captions and narration make meticulous note of the time, as the story flashes back and forth between the heist's planning, execution and fallout.

Focusing on Catwoman and Riddler was really exciting, but I’m super intrigued by The Help and I’d love to see more from him (especially his time with Ra’s Al Ghul and Penguin). Riddler catches a fish, enraging Catwoman, but they get a notification that their secret employer will pay. Catwoman, the Riddler, and the Penguin join forces to pull off the greatest robbery in the history of Gotham City. Marquez’s art here is fairly simple, following the eye as it’s rolling down a hill in the midst of this battle that’s been going on. Having made a name for himself at DC as one of the best Batman artists, David Marquez’s work is top-notch here, presenting hyper-realistic, hugely detailed art. They even flash back to thousands of years in the past, attempting to explain the backstory of the item every character is vying for -- the eye of Athena.
