NOW was recently proud to announce the ‘Yearbook’ for 1985, as we move forward to the second half of the 1980s, and we were delighted with the response to the 1979 edition back in September. Certain items can take longer to source than the estimated week, particularly during busy trading periods and may take longer to arrive at our warehouse. An amazing year for pop is reflected here with a line-up that kicks off with Queen’s iconic ‘Radio Ga Ga’ and finishes with the biggest selling single of the decade, ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?Some of the most enduring tracks include Toto’s ‘Africa’, UB40’s ‘Red Red Wine’ and Luther Vandross’s ‘Never Too Much’. The first two NOW Yearbooks – ’83 and ’84 – sold out rather quickly back in 2021, especially the limited vinyl and deluxe hardcover book editions. LP2 opens with the breath-taking ‘Cloudbusting’ from Kate Bush, and the Indie anthem ‘How Soon Is Now? Robert Palmer's 'Addicted To Love' would become a timeless radio staple, and the year saw new hits from Simple Minds, The Rolling Stones, and a new version of a classic from The Police. s singles chart included debuts from a-ha with ‘Take On Me’, Go West, Red Box, Stephen Duffy and King – all featured here on the second side. EX (Excellent): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality.

Flipping to Side B, Classic Rock from Meat Loaf and Electric Light Orchestra is joined by timeless hits from Billy Joel, Gerry Rafferty, Dave Edmunds and the debut ‘Stop Your Sobbing’ by Pretenders. Alternative Pop takes the spotlight on the other side of LP2, with 1986 a vintage year for the sheer diversity of its chart music.
