Description

Both girls were active in the organization Amnesty International, along with other organizations to help people and the earth. However, it is also a very tragic story and not just in the sense of the original crime but in the subsequent prosecution of ‘justice’, or should I say travesty of it? She explores the family's initial horror over the police holding Tom as a suspect for this crime that made national headlines. By all accounts, Julie and Robin were amazing young women, and their deaths left a hole in the lives of all those who loved them: a rip in heaven.

Narrado por uma terceira pessoa este livro é uma biografia mas ao mesmo tempo uma história de um crime hediondo . The two sisters were raped and then murdered by a group of four males, who also attempted to murder the sisters’ cousin, Thomas Cummins. At birth, humans possess limited knowledge about the world, but it is through constant learning, curiosity, and willingness to explore new ideas that we can overcome our ignorance.

Não consigo dizer muito mais a não ser que este livro é em muitos momentos ,difícil de ler tal o sofrimento descrito, mas escrito de uma forma brilhante , e viciante , como a autora já nos habituou . I find in this case it is better for the events to unfold to each reader as they turn the pages, much as I did… having hope, having shock, having sorrow… it is indeed a personal journey. The acclaimed author of American Dirt reveals the devastating effects of a shocking tragedy in this landmark true crime book—the first ever to look intimately at the experiences of both the victims and their families.

This quote reminds us that remaining ignorant is a choice, and it is only through laziness and complacency that one can stagnate intellectually. I sort of liked this book while I was reading it, but like other readers, was annoyed by the author's choice to use the third person. I remember driving over the old Chain of Rocks Bridge as a young girl, a very narrow bridge with a distinctive bend in the middle. The guys took turns watching over me, while they went on the underside of the bridge, and did who knows what to Julie and Robin.Despite having been a victim himself and attempting to save his cousins, he finds himself navigating accusations and public scrutiny due to misleading media coverage and police bias. The massive steel structure was wild with leaves, and the undergrowth near the base was dense and uninviting. The book highlights the transformative power of forgiveness and the ability to heal and move forward from unimaginable tragedy.
