John Innes No 1 is suitable for pricking out, and for potting up of young seedlings or rooted cuttings. We recommend using Dobbies ericaceous compost with peat free John Innes for all acid loving plants like Azaleas, Camellias, Rhododendrons or Heathers. Root cuttings can be placed in a cold frame or sheltered spot out of direct sunlight and can benefit from a thin layer of grit on the growing medium surface.
