The small, family run company owned by Katie and Michael Morrison who had a dream to create a future for their family on their island home. Standing out in the Atlantic on the far western edge of Scotland, you’ll find the island home of the Barra distillery. The Barra Atlantic Island Dark Rum has been infused with a variety of botanicals, including carrageen seaweed, coconut, cardamom, and orange. Infused in our Outer Hebridean Island with carrageen seaweed, coconut, cardamom and orange, among a host of other botanicals.

Island Dark Rum delivers the elicit connection of the land and sea, an unbreakable bond and exhibit of our homeland. Infused with their signature botanical, Carrageen seaweed, their award-winning Island Dark Rum is also infused with coconut, cardamom and orange peel. As we move toward our journey into whisky, we're delighted to release the first rum from the Outer Hebrides. The classic dark rum has been i nfused in on Barra with carrageen seaweed, coconut, cardamom and orange, among a host of other botanicals. Isle of Barra Distillers' Island Dark Rum is the first rum from the Outer Hebrides and delivers the elicit connection of the land and sea.With hints of spice and a lasting sweetness, close your eyes and take yourself to the Isle of Barra. On the nose is a presence of coconut and clove to start, shortly followed by a crisp maritime freshness. A 15-year-old Glenallachie single malt, matured in a combination of Pedro Ximenez and oloroso sherry casks, creating a smooth, rich character.This time, it’s the distillery manager Gordon who has picked his favourite combination of casks to create the most moreish of whiskies.
