I was rather more interested in the other plot strand, where Nick is being investigated by Professional Standards, following the death of an intruder at his home. Ideally suited for bathrooms, wetrooms and kitchens, this mosaic provides a winning effect to any area in your home.

He's a complex, flawed, idiosyncratic character, which makes him fascinating, loveable and - occasionally - deeply frustrating. Squibbing, I mean I didn’t even know what it was, let alone that Somerset Carnival Clubs squibbing is something unique across the entire planet.It's also nice that all Damien Boyd's books are available on Kindle Unlimited, so they are free to me (apart from my monthly subscription, of course). Nick is a great main character, one I have grown quite fond of as our relationship has developed through the series. However once he got everything geared up for the dénouement, it was a great page turner, and I raced through the last 25%.

There's a few red herrings in the plot to misdirect the reader, but then it's all neatly pulled together in the final act, when the real motive and murderer is revealed. The vehicle was never found, even have a old registration for you it was my Dads old company car not sure If allowed to put old car registration plates on facebook but it began with RT* ***S. I highly recommend reading the adventures of DI Nick Dixon and the host of characters that Damien Boyd has developed. The fullness of the bias cut sleeves with an elasticated cuff balances the skirt beautifully, I love to push the sleeves up to create a pretty puff. He's come to see the squibbing, the traditional firework display that brings the town's November festivities to a dramatic close.

It's good to feature a strong local tradition like the carnivals, which probably aren't that well known in other areas of the UK, but are a key part of the local scene - so much so that's its a surprise they haven't been mentioned in the series before. Living in Taunton, Somerset, this book (and series) has a lot of local flavour to interest me, but even without that, it still stands as a good story.
