Patrick Barclay, then the Chief Football Correspondent of The Times, published this chronicle about the life of his fellow Scotsman and Manchester United Manager Alex Ferguson in 2010. Since I'm a lifelong Liverpool supporter I breathed a great sigh of relief when Sir Alex Ferguson (SAF) announced his retirement towards the end of the 2012-2013 season. Alex Ferguson is an entertaining, celebratory, inspiring, and revealing autobiography of arguably the best football manager in British football.

We take a look at five books that have all been about the Old Scotsman who many consider to be the greatest Manager in football. Anyone could use his ideas, lessons and thoughts in their lives, be it managing themselves or a huge team.

Avoiding distractions: He talks about Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the top players in the world and how he is disciplined.

The narrator has a Scottish accent which grows on you to such an extent that now my mind has accepted it as Alex Ferguson's real voice. Red hardback(gilt lettering to the spine) with Dj(small tear on the edge of the back Dj cover,a couple of nicks, crease and scratches on the Dj cover),both in near fine condition. The Irish Independent Newspaper after reviewing the book stated “Barclay has written a wonderful book. Maybe there would be some interesting childhood tales etc, turns out a football manager played alot of football in their younger years. He also tears into Liverpool, for their handling of the Suarez race row, blasted their former manager ‘Mr Fact’ Rafa Benitez, and has also labelled Liverpool and England’s captain Steven Gerrard and Chelsea’s top scorer Frank Lampard as not good enough to be top players. Arriving at Manchester United in 1986, he went on to accumulate 38 trophies, including five FA Cups, 13 Premier Leagues and two Champions Leagues.
