About this deal

What i got was an insight into Petra's own childhood, and how they navigagted their own mental health. National Book Award winner Jacqueline Woodson has created a poignant, yet heartening audiobook about finding courage to connect, even when you feel scared and alone. I was expecting a practical guide to being able to harnessing my wellbeing and mental health at work. Each challenge is an opportunity to assert who we are, and what we truly need to live happy, healthy lives.

His output is famously broad ranging and includes painting, graphic design, collage, book illustration, sculpture and printing. All of these people have since emerged from those situations and now want to share what they have learned, which demonstrates how powerful building healthy boundaries can be. Petra Velzeboer leads the way and shines a light through the maze of tools and set constructs defined by employers and medical professionals. Improving your mental wellbeing is always the first step to improving your productivity, satisfaction and creativity regardless of your seniority or sector. National Book Award winner and national treasure Jacqueline Woodson teams up with two-time Pura Belpré Award recipient Rafael López to deliver an empowering message to any child who has ever felt too different.I will say this author does cover some very good points around personal accountability, which I feel many self help and MH books fail to focus on enough. This essential guide to setting and respecting boundaries is for anyone wanting to better understand themselves and others. If i were to re-read this book I would only check the chapter over burnout and completely dismiss the rest of the book (Although if I find a better book about burnout, actually going into some detail, I would prefer it). Petra's keynotes are uplifting, moving, funny and challenge audiences to cultivate mentally healthy cultures that promote innovation and sustainable performance for the future of work. Cessie describes her parenting style as ‘benign neglect’ and their family motto ‘Commitment sucks the life right out of you’ is tacked up on every rental fridge.

even though (in reality) there is a systemic and sometimes toxic reason that's led them to burn out. All let your body and heart in on the knowledge you’re collecting with your mind—in learning what boundaries are all about.combine bold with soft colors and textures in a slightly shaded tropical palette; compositions employ creative and insightful perspectives to suit the characters’ feelings. A highly practical handbook that covers a range of very important topics and explores them thoughtfully, intelligently and with emotion. In her signature keynote talk, Petra challenges companies to shift their focus and prioritise investment in human capital, wellbeing, and mental health. There have been many accounts of life for resistance workers in Europe during the Second World War but while many are exciting few convey the paralysing sense of extreme danger that this story does. The author made an interesting point about ‘playing’ into bullying if you have been bullied several times.

As a final note before you begin, some of the stories and examples included in this book may be hard for you to read. a very interesting take on how violations can traumatize a person and shape how they survive as adults. The author skims over interesting (potentially good) ideas, but she stays quite vague, completely on the surface.I'm not sure if this book is for those in the early stages of self reflection around their mental health.

Were it not so, when we sat down, we’d pass right through the chair (and the chair through us) and be sprawled on the floor. We need to get the sale books on the right shelves, because patrons looking for mystery thrillers aren’t going to be happy seeing romance novels next to Grisham or Turow. With good boundaries, we can have the wonderful assurance that comes from knowing we can and will protect ourselves from the ignorance, meanness, or thoughtlessness of others. Shifting hues and textures across the page convey their deep loneliness and then slowly transition into bright hopeful possibilities.

However, if you feel uncomfortable while reading a particular story—especially if it is a story that closely resembles your own—it may be a good idea to pause your reading and process your feelings with a therapist or trusted friend. Clients can be angry with me, and they can tell me so, but meanness and hostility advance neither the relationship nor the individual.
