There are a few flashbacks, however, with a book 600 pages I expected the author to really dive into the emotional history of the two of them. i wish we were given a chapter or two of his ups and downs with his time in rehab, not just skip to after the 30 days and his life is suddenly a bliss? So many times, I see ppl speak out when it's not done well that I wanted to make a point of applauding the author here bc I was so happy to see it done with such care. I’ve been through the process enough times to know it’s thirty days of absolute hell, no matter which way someone cuts it.Lana dated a guy named Victor for a few months after her mom died and he was bad so everyone scared him outta the town. but no it really was that long and by the second half of the book, i felt that slogging length on a bone-deep level lmao. I love how each book was around each of the Kane brothers and how they grow into something they never thought they would and to find love! The moments that were good between them were GREAT, and I was aching for them to find their way together.

I always knew he was gonna be my fave LA man but it’s good to finally confirm it 😌 disclaimer: I had full Cal blinkers on for this book. I have to say it’s a very very slow burn lol but it’s worth being patience so im happy to say the ending was satisfying and not rushed at all!

Camila (Cami) and Lana (Alana) are home when Cal shows up, Lana watched him through her door and saw him talking to himself about being scared of being a bad parent. UGH, I swear this unnerved me to stratospheric levels, as the entire town made Cal's life miserable for the simple reason that he "broke Alana's heart. rowan and declan i hope you're embarrassed, your younger brother has more brain cells and less daddy issues than both of you combined. i craved it but i was simultaneously terrified to read this in case it really was gonna flop like it’s predecessors and let me down. I loved seeing her scenes, seeing her the way she talked to and manipulated people (lol, poor Cal, he honestly never stood a chance), and, most of all, I love her relationship with her mother and her relationship with Cal—the amount of girl dad energy he gave and the father-daughter energy they had from the beginning were insane.The way Cami acted like she didn’t know how much the money was until Lana proved Cal wrong was too funny, Cal thinking she’s a little shit LMAO.
