Here, Jenson tells his full story for the first time in his own honest, intelligent and eloquent style. This isn't necessarily a bad thing for the book, and would make it a brilliant introduction for new fans, but just be warned that if you do already know a thing or two about motorsports, there might be sections which aren't particularly interesting. There’s almost nothing about his personal life - while I can’t help being a bit nosy about some things, it’s actually refreshing to read something focused on the most interesting stuff and I actually learned a lot about my favourite sport as well.

In 2009 he won the World Championship for the unsponsored Brawn Racing team in one of the most incredible, against-the-odds sports stories of the century. Seller has stated it will dispatch the item within 1 working day upon receipt of cleared payment - opens in a new window or tab . Some fun stories and interesting insights into the teams and team principals he's raced for, and the teammates he's raced against (Lewis in particular). The stuff you don’t hear about at the time all comes to light in autobiographies when enough time has passed that nobody will care anymore (hopefully) and I learnt a lot about what went on within his teams, with his teammates and especially with his team managers. A few entertaining stories from behind the scenes of F1 but if you've seen recent interviews promoting this then you'll have already heard all the interesting parts. There are other chapters with the usual Button honesty like his indulgence in expensive motorhome and yacht in the earlier part of his career. Aside from the family snaps, these are largely Sutton and Getty pictures also seen in motorsports magazines.

About the Author: Born in Frome, Somerset, British Racing driver Jenson Button has been in Formula 1 for seventeen years, appearing in 308 grand prix, the second most in history. Overall, this was very easy to read and I think it would be worth reading for those getting into formula one. Shines a light on some of the stranger decisions in Jensen’s career – most notably his decision to leave Brawn just after wining the World Championship. From growing up as part of a motor-racing-mad family under the guidance of his father John, to arriving at Williams as a fresh-faced 20 year-old, to being written off by some as a playboy and his fight back to the very pinnacle of his sport. I haven’t actively followed him during his time in Formula One but I love the interview he does for Sky Sports F1. This site is my blog of reviews of classic and contemporary sports books that I have read and am reading. I'm not a F1 driver, so am in no position to argue with anything Button has to say about competitive driving at that level. He reflects on how his father’s tragic passing left a massive void in his life and had him questioning his love for F1.
