The opening is the least gracious part, reminds me of the caugh syrup I hated when I was a child; sweet, sticky, chemical, nasty stuf. I think it's a scent that has very particular notes, but yet you could wear it in the summer heat too. Another plus, the design of the bottle is beautiful and minimalist, very ahead of its time, making it great as a gift. I don’t get anything really beachy from it, but it IS warm and the sun is warm so perhaps it’s aptly named.

For me, being an early teen to this time, this was too much, even a bit on the vulgar side, but sure at least 'over the top'.Strangely, it also reminds me of Revlon Ciara and Pani Walewska Gold, although these two are much more soapy and floral and have less powder and less amber and musk, and also those are more spring-like and more vintage than Sun. Only the strong Benzoin accord - the note that makes me think of my childhood instantly cause it was omnipresent in fragrances back then and all 'grown ladies' smelled of it - makes it take that jump from lotion to perfume.

It blends with your skin so that you still smell like you, or rather an enhanced delicious and sunkissed summerversion of yourself, does that sound wierd? It is creamy, calm, radiates light, and has a very soft sweetness about it that adds to its charm and brightness. As it dried down, though, I kept getting whiffs of something slightly off-putting, a bit metallic, and a little disturbing, but that I couldn't put my finger on.

the closest I can come is that it reminds me of some sort of lotion or soap or even a perfume that somebody wore in my childhood. This smells like a high end sun cream that has mostly been sweated and worn off after all day sun tanning and swimming.

almost like in the old drink, an Orange Julius -- a combination of milk and sweet oranges -- or like an Orange Creamsicle. The carefree fragrance is completed by a warm and sensual blend of styrax amber patchouli warm sandalwood musk vanilla benzoin and tonka bean.It reminds the vibe of other perfumes of that period but its (suntan) lotion smell makes it timeless. No clever words to describe the individual components of this sweet , sunny smell of a summers day ( and no, it isn’t giving me a sun tan lotion vibe at all here ) , it’s great for a dreary ,January day , sitting doing the annual accounts .

Which fragrance would stay long and would smell like summer without it being aquatic like Davidoff’s cool water? I loved this fragrance when I was 24, the year it was created, and I surely was not an old lady then, and I still love it now, and I do not consider myself an old lady at age 52.It was a very carefree stage in my life (mainly homework and boyfriends) and Sun brings me back to that place.
