Description

Letting in Light covers a topic that I have never come across in a story before, it is one of sadness and is covered very well by Emma Davies.

Perhaps because they were a bit predictable or perhaps because you could see from a mile off that things were simply a silly, easy-to-forgive misunderstanding so the stakes weren't very high. To me and from Emma's comments at the back of the book, this book took its time in coming to fruition. Now to put the icing o the cake how this author was able to present the 'secrets and revelations' that will come out from this read was very well done. She's getting over a bad breakup and hopes Rowan Hill will be a place to recover and to find a new purpose.

Letting In Light was a novel I had not come across before and didn’t know much about until I was asked to review it.

I agree with you: we are all flawed and broken in some way and that’s part of what makes us each unique, shapes our personalities or character. January: the first payday of 2016 seems a long way away, and the media is full of the misery of ‘Blue Monday’. The author displays a true talent for giving the readers a real insight into the lives of the many characters, with only a certain number of pages to play around with. Don pinny was another one, what the hell is a conker and for the love of everything warm and fluffy . Worse, in 1914, the gathering clouds of war are fast approaching causing seismic shifts all around the world. The experiences are remade in words, as if for an inner healing, but as he makes each poem, they find the tune of pain, sadness and joy in each of us. I get afraid when I can’t walk too much, or as much as I used to, I am thankful that I can walk with my walker. But it’s unfair to single out any of the works in the exhibition: not only is the standard is very high, but the range of techniques used, and experiences behind them, are so varied. I see cracks as wounds or merely imperfections, whereas the light is pure love, virtue of kindness, forgiveness and gentleness and understanding to overcome the darkness.

She wants to “let the light in” on their relationship, either asking for the male singer to do this, or, potentially asking “who let the light in” in reference to their relationship getting exposed. I have never belonged to the ‘perfect’ world and have enjoyed the collection and treasuring of older meaningful and artistic things for as long as I can rremember. In this exhibition, the text not only gives one a greater appreciation of the art, but helps normalise the artists’ mental health issues. But when the opportunity to house sit at the amazing Rowan Hill arises, it offers Ellie a much needed distraction and some breathing space to decide what she’s going to do next. So it’s no coincidence that the public exhibition ‘Letting in the Light’ in Stratford seeks to uplift and illuminate through art, created by people with personal histories of mental illness.About the last third of the book takes a serious turn as it addresses a wrong that often isn't talked about, particularly in literature. I resolved to find my strength in being recast, and resolved to do all I can to increase awareness of, and to address, the challenges, inequity, and inequality for individuals with disability. You set me a very high bar to be a ‘Lightworker and a Mapmaker’ to show what humanity is capable of accomplishing! Also, in How a bumblebee helped me in lockdown, I share the ten life-sustaining truths that sustain me. The passage of time moves forward quite regularly, so it feels as though you are just catching up in the key moments of their lives, and I loved this story of friendship, family and love.
