I did like and learn from the author, though, so four stars even though the quality of writing might otherwise be a three. I am completely obsessed with Mary Magdalene Revealed - and being this moved by this book has come as quite a shock (as a Jewish woman with seemingly no interest in this topic but a deep appreciation for Meggan's writing) yet I am underlining and weeping like crazy!

Her unearthing of the hidden and silenced realities of the first apostle’s life and legacy ignites revelations that will transform the hearts and minds of readers who are ready to claim their own power and spiritual authority.I ended up reading a book by someone who was unwilling to accept the status quo in religious doctrine.

When I say, I ‘heard’ the answer, it’s not a voice as if on an intercom at Target, or on an airplane. In fact, our purpose is to be fully human, to be a “true human being”- that is, a person who has remembered that, yes, we are a messy, limited ego, and we are also a limitless soul. Meggan Watterson is the spiritual teacher to spiritual teachers and this book is a road map to the heart of Christ’s message. I also agree that humans are inherently good, and that sin may have been misunderstood, and that the dismissal of the Gnostic texts is completely arbitrary and in some cases patriarchal.

Every son of a bitch I've ever known, if you knew his family background, really was a son of a bitch. For example, when Watterson was worrying about flying across the Atlantic, she left it to The Universe (my interpretation) and was led to take the Queen Mary instead (resulting in so many enlightening moments for the author). And all we need to do is to turn inward (again and again); to meditate, like Mary Magdalene, in the way her gospel directs us, so that we can see past the ego of our own little lives to what’s more real, and lasting, and infinite, and already here, within.
