Memory size - User memory is less than the total memory due to storage of the operating system and software used to operate the phones features. Interestingly, even months after launch the price hasn't dropped much, perhaps because it's so cheap in the first place, so you're unlikely to find the Galaxy A13 for much less than the prices above. Scroll, stream, and share to your heart's content knowing A13 won’t run out before your train even arrives. When you do need a bit more juice, it's Super Fast Charging compatible, so don’t worry about being tied to an outlet for too long. Whether or not you prefer a pared-down design is entirely subjective, but I can’t shake the feeling that Samsung could have done more here to make the Galaxy A13 stand out. Network: The bandwidths supported by the device may vary depending on the region or service provider.

A budget handset will never be the last word in horsepower, but sadly this is where the Galaxy A13 really falls apart. Like the S22 series, the UK and US models differ in terms of chipset componentry, with the slightly older 5G-enabled US model (SM-A136U) getting the MediaTek Dimensity 700, while UK buyers are left with the 4G-only Samsung Exynos 850 (SM-A135F). Display Size: Measured diagonally, the screen size is 6.6" in the full rectangle and 6.4" accounting for the rounded corners. Actual viewable area is less due to the rounded corners and the camera cutout.

As with a lot of cheaper phones, the Samsung Galaxy A13 has more lenses than you might expect, but the extra ones don't do an awful lot. Landscape photos such as the one below have a good amount of detail, with a great use of HDR and reasonably muted colours. The Nokia G21 in comparison looked overly warm in some instances, and while there was still a lot to like in the standard 1x mode, the 2x digital zoom is far superior on the A13. There's a teardrop notch up at the top of the display in the center, and while the bezels aren't the thinnest you're going to come across, they're not an eyesore. The rounded corners of the screen do come across as a little bit too rounded but again it's by no means a major complaint that would stop you from buying the Galaxy A13. The Exynos 850 system-on-chip inside the Galaxy A13 performs as slowly as expected. Especially when combined with the 3 GB of RAM, it performs abysmally bad with most tasks and gaming is certainly a pipe dream here. Unlike its 5G variant the Galaxy A13 5G, It only supports 4G cellular connections. The storage options consist of 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB - they are certainly not anything impressive, but thankfully it's possible to expand storage for up to 1 TB in capacity with a microSD card. And finally, the charging speed is capped at only 15W and the phone doesn't come with a charger. Galaxy A13: Price UK

The Galaxy A13 comes with a 5,000mAh capacity battery, and with a normal amount of use that's going to last you a day and probably a bit extra on top of that – if you're really careful you can get two days out of this, thanks to the large battery and the less powerful specs running under the hood. Meanwhile, portrait images taken on the two phones couldn’t look more different. For some reason, the A13 has dialled up the contrast to a considerable degree, and you lose a lot of detail in darker areas as a result – just take a look at the hair resting on the shoulders in the bottom picture and you’ll see what I mean. The wonders of waterproofing and dustproofing have not yet found their way down to budget phones, and the A13 is no different in this regard. You're not going to want to drop it in the sink or even get it caught in the rain. Samsung Galaxy A13 display Get comfortable being your group’s go-to, one-person camera crew. With a multi-lens camera, you’ve got the shot, every time. Whether you’re snapping cityscapes, landscapes or family moments, "say cheese" is your new catchphrase. The dimensions of the phone are dictated by the 6.6-inch screen – it comes in at 165.1 x 76.4 x 8.8mm, which is 6.5 inches x 3 inches x 0.35 inches. The weight of the phone is 195 grams or 0.43 pounds, and by the standards of today, it's actually a relatively compact handset, and it's comfortable to hold and easy to grip. The Galaxy A13 is one of the few Samsung phones without an OLED display. A simple IPS number, the A13’s 6.6in screen has a resolution of 2,408 x 1,080 and a pixel density of 400ppi. It isn’t a scratch on Samsung’s AMOLED tech, but you’re getting a screen that looks rather good for the money. In short, what this means is that not only are UK consumers not able to buy the 5G model, but they’re also getting shafted when it comes to speeds. In the Geekbench 5 test, I recorded a single-core processing result of just 156, with an equally poor 587 in multicore. At first, I thought something must have gone wrong with the test, but multiple runs reached the same conclusion – as you can see from the graph below, this is a substantial decrease on the Galaxy A12’s scores.

It's worth noting that the Samsung Galaxy A13 5G available in the US has a completely different - and lower resolution - screen, but we're specifically looking at the 4G model here. Battery Capacity: Typical value tested under third-party laboratory condition. Typical value is the estimated average value considering the deviation in battery capacity among the battery samples tested under IEC 61960 standard. Rated (minimum) capacity is 4,900mAh.

The expandable storage helps you make the most out of a trip down memory lane. The A13 comes loaded with 64GB of internal memory, with room for up to 1TB more when you add a microSD card, so you can savour each smile, cherish every vacation and remember all the moments you’ve captured. With an sRGB colour gamut coverage of 99.1%, a total volume of 129.3% and an average Delta E (colour variance) of 2.09, the A13’s display isn’t too shabby, and I’ve seen worse on recent phones at this price – here’s looking at you, Nokia G21.

In terms of brands, users of Android phones have the luxury of choice. The devices of two notable companies, Samsung and Google, are hugely popular options. The Google Pixel is renowned for taking great quality photos and comes with Google Assistant and Chrome OS. Amongst Google phones are the Google Pixel 7 Pro and Google Pixel 7a which allow 5G connectivity and an incredible storage stage up to 256 GB. The range of Samsung phones is vast, with the Samsung S21, Samsung S21 Ultra 5G, Samsung S21 +5G, and Samsung A12s as their offering. Amongst many improvements, this has an increased battery life and are 5G enabled. Some options also have PowerShare, which lets you use your phone as a wireless charging pad. More SIM free phones Video is captured at a maximum 1080p resolution at 30fps, with an option for 720p if you’re being conservative with file sizes. No matter the resolution, however, there’s absolutely no form of stabilisation to speak of, so while footage looks detailed for the most part, it’s going to be quite juddery.
