About this deal

ll consider it. In the meantime, I need you to look into something for me,” I told my brother, pouring us both a goblet of wine and handing him one. This book made me feel giddy and giggly. I wasn’t expecting to like it as much as I did, and nothing makes a good book better than no/low expectations. Ophelia was such a refreshing heroine. She was sweet, sassy, and very in harmony with her sexuality. I mean, this woman was so horny all the time, fantasizing about monster porn, drawing it even. I personally found her fun and entertaining to follow. She had a smart mouth, wasn't scared of the King of Shades and his grumpiness. My only real issue with her was that, I feel like she gained the respect the Shades way too easily, without really working toward it or deserving it. She didn't really put in the work to meet with the civilians, connect with them, prove that she was a worthy Queen. I really wish she'd been shown putting in the effort to be liked rather than wandering in the gardens without purpose. She also kept quiet when something bothered her, didn't really communicate with her husband. Since this is a romance, the focus is mainly on the characters and their relationship, but there’s also an intriguing plot and fascinating world-building!! I never read a story quite like this - with Shades and Hunters - but I’m hooked! I seriously cannot wait for the next book! Except Ophelia always found the idea of monsters kind of intriguing . She even made the grave sin of committing some X-rated monster thoughts to paper—which in hindsight may not have been the best idea because her parents were mortified —but you live and learn. Well, everyone finds out your secret, you get banished from society, and then you learn.

I gave her a disapproving look. “You moved here and married me without reading the document that is the basis for our whole union?” Colette Rhodes is a paranormal romance author from New Zealand. She loves to write about love in all its forms, and adores imperfect heroes and heroines who find perfection in each other. You’ll often find her trying to justify her degree by including ancient history and mythological influences in her work. VERY curious about the next book - the way the end of this one was set up I'm hoping to see a specific couple take center stage in the next one. My new release, Luxuria, is out now and available in KU. It's a sweet and spicy MF monster romance, featuring an arranged marriage between a monster king and a human bride he doesn't realize is totally hot for him.

Luxuria

I watched her disappear into her room experiencing a faint sensation of… guilt? That couldn’t be right. Rhodes has created a perfect balance between writing characters you WANT to discover more about and grow to love, an expanding plot that is intriguing but not too complex or cumbersome so that it makes the book feel heavy and spice that is hot — but not OVERLY graphically filthy to deter from the steam itself. So basically, this is a story of an arranged marriage between a monster (they called it as Shades) and a monster hunter (well, rejected hunter) to fulfil a peace treaty. Except, she was into him and he didn't realize that. Cast out and living among the humans, Ophelia has been summoned to take part in a treaty between the Hunters and the Shades. One that sees her married to the King of Darkness himself. Little does he know that his wife comes willingly. I’ve seen lots of people talking about this book in the monster romance community and after reading it I can DEFINITELY understand all the hype! This book was a wonderful read filled with an interesting plot, warm characters and lots of delicious spice!

Remember in Monsters Inc, when they powered their city by frightening children, but soon learned laughter created more power than screams? This is an adult, monster romance version of that movie, at least that's my take! Fabulous side characters, and excellent writing. This was a fun, light, somewhat slow-burn monster romance. Except Ophelia always found the idea of monsters kind of intriguing. She even made the grave sin of committing some X-rated monster thoughts to paper—which in hindsight may not have been the best idea because her parents were mortified—but you live and learn. Well, everyone finds out your secret, you get banished from society, and then you learn. stars. I really enjoyed this book, and I’m sad to have to wait for the next in this series. I’m really looking forward to seeing where the series storyline goes. The 3rd Cycle of the Betrayed Series Collection: Extremely Controversial Historical Thrillers (Betrayed Series Boxed set) by McCray Carolyn(12996) Praise kink vibes, one scene of primal/chase play, stretching/breeding kinks (with no actual babies or pregnancy)
