Next you will analyze each district individually. Find the district where the current Underground line has connected to the most stations. Count up the number of stations that were connected to the line in that district. Write this number in the corresponding scoring area. In their purple line this player connected to three stations in the same district. They will write down three in the corresponding section on the score sheet. Crossing the River The Central Station is located in the middle of the map. This station has a ? symbol in the middle of it. This station is wild. You may connect an Underground line to this station with any of the Station card symbols.

If your goal is finding a fun route-building game set in London, Get on Board: New York & London is a more interesting game with a bit more replayability. Next Station: London makes for a fun puzzle for an afternoon or two, but I am having a hard time imagining a world where I play it 20-30 times. Develop an Underground network that crosses the Thames at least six times. Next Station London Pencil Powers The objective of the single player game is to maximize your score. You will play the game in the same way as the normal game as you create your Underground lines.Roll and Write games were once all the rage; every time that you looked around, there was a new one to try. After a while, I’ll admit that they all felt a bit same-y, and my enthusiasm for the genre diminished a bit. That being said, I continue to be impressed with the RAW designs from Matthew Dunstan – and we’ve reviewed a number of his recent designs here on the blog: Aquamarine and Voyages – as well as a board game which feels like a RAW, The Guild of Merchant Explorers. Given this recent pedigree, I was actually pretty jazzed to get a chance to try this one out. If there is a tie, the tied player that scored the most points from one single Underground line wins the game. If there is still a tie, the tied players share the victory. After you have played the game a couple times, you can choose to add the advanced modules to Next Station London. These modules add additional complexity to the game, but also add additional challenge. You can choose to either add the Shared Objective cards, the Pencil Power cards, or both. Setup

There are 2 wild cards which allow you to connect to any station; still following the grey proto-lines on your sheet.

London to Liverpool: Euston station offers direct services to Liverpool Lime Street station, providing access to the vibrant city of Liverpool and its surrounding areas. The route also connects to other towns and cities in Merseyside and the northwest of England. Next Station: London has a simple concept and comes from a publisher that I have generally enjoyed ( Paco’s Party, Kingdomino: Origins). Like the art design of Zoom in Barcelona—another Blue Orange production—I love the look and clean lines of the cover art on the Next Station: London box.There are four pencil power cards in the game and are shuffled as part of set up. One of each of the cards is assigned to a coloured pencil at the beginning of the game. These powers will move around with the specific coloured pencil but can only be used once per round. When drawing a section, you must follow the dotted lines printed on the map. You may not connect two stations that are not connected with a dotted line.

You can use the Pencil Power assigned to your current color once. You do not have to use the power if you don’t want to. If you use the card, flip it face down to show that it has been used in the current round.

Next Station: London borrows some of the same concepts from a game called Let’s Make a Bus Route (released in the US as Get on Board, a Japanese production where all players have to react to the same flipped card to make a bus route in their color around a shared map of Tokyo.
