Evil Old Folks: Archibald Sommers is revealed not only to be the Big Bad, but a 500 year-old vampire. Father Taos, while not as villainous is pretty bad and just as old. When someone tells you not to do something, your rebellious side always makes you want to do it... right? So when I read the blurb on this book, which starts with "Whatever you do, don't read The Book With No Name", I had to read it. Big Bad: Bourbon Kid isn't actually the Big Bad; it's Archibald Somers, who is not only trying to find the Eye of the Moon through his son El Santino with the goal to bring eternal darkness, but also kills anyone who finds the book with no name and frames the Kid for everything. This story started off presenting us with two interesting heroines to identify with: sisters Magdalen and Norah. It also had a very interesting premise, with surprising past events and legalities disinheriting the sisters from both the family fortune and the family name. I thought I might finally be reading a great Collins novel. Broken Pedestal: Rex reveals to Kyle and Peto that father Taos might not be the saintly man they think he is; their meeting with the now vampirized Milo and Hezekiah proves him right.

Mexican Standoff: Toward the end, about ten people fighting over the Eye of the Moon and the hostage Dante are aiming at each other in the Tapioca, with the Bourbon Kid aiming at all of them. Kyle, El Santino, Miguel, Carlito, Jefe, a bartender and a random Elvis impersonator are killed; Jessica is once again almost dead, and Dante, Kacy, Peto, Sanchez and the Kid are the only survivors. The plot is complex and centres around a series of situations in which one character is trying to persuade another. It takes time and skill until the desired effect is achieved, but success there is each time round. Even if to the 21st century eye the persuasion seems almost implausible, it is all fascinating, reads like a (slightly old-fashioned) thriller. There are also parallels with our own century where people seem to want to believe what they are told although a bystander would immediately recognise a scam for what it is. Hi everyone! I’m Kang. Today I’m going to share with you how to pass "Book with no name 1991, Philosopher’s Stone Ⅰ to Ⅴ" all with 4 stars strategy. You can get 120 gems in each stage. So, in total, we can get 600 free gems! I just don't get it! What's the fuss around this book? The author should have gone to an editor, it would have helped him re-work his book in a good way and it could have been splendid! But not like this, it's still a big draft from a newbie.

For me this story had everything one would want to see in a book. It had a lot of contrasting, but interesting characters, & by contrasting I mean it had monks, bounty hunters, Elvis impersonators, not to mention Vampires & Werewolves. It`s a book I would recommend to a lot of people, because there is many genres contained within it. It could be classified as a mystery/thriller, horror, supernatural, even to some extent as a romance. And this is also true for the whole novel. Anon does not deliver a consistent feel. Movie references litter the book, and it is clear that Anon loves films. But his novel does not know whether it wants to be "Reservoir Dogs", "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure", or "From Dusk till Dawn". And even if it did, it strikes me as poor craftsmanship if a writer borrows his imagination from other genres.

My only Collins experience had been some years ago with "The woman in white" and I wasn't disappointed. But I don't know why I kept postponing starting this novel, which had been in my shelves for quite a long time. Maybe its lenght, maybe (in my humble opinion) the too much simplified summary plot, maybe because I thought I knew what kind of book I was going to read... The structure appeals to me in particular: third-person narration is interspersed with letters from various actors to further the story. The Reveal: At the end, Archibald Somers being the Lord Of The Night and Bourbon Kid being Taos' son.Take the opening sequence in chapter one, for example. Did nobody else think that scene was straight out of "Desperado" (1995, director Robert Rodriguez, starring Antonio Banderas)? In the film, we see Banderas' character in the Tarasco bar in Mexico, telling the story of a massacre he witnessed in another bar. The low-life drinkers in the bar are uninterested until he identifies the killer as "Bucho", and he describes "Bucho" as moving with his face constantly in the shade. Bucho, of course, turns out to be him, and he proceeds to kill the entire clientele gathered in the bar, including staff, but saving the barkeep. No Name is a touching story of a woman's quest to redress an injustice that has caused her and her sister to become outcasts, penniless, and robbed of their rightful inheritance due to a mere legality. Collins has adopted a new style of writing here. He tells his story through a combination of narrative, chronicle, and epistolary writing. This method was very refreshing. It gives the reader a break from the monotony of the narrative. I very much enjoyed this style.

Wretched Hive: Santa Mondega might as well be the capital of crime. It's full of murderers, thieves and rapists, the cops are more interested in furthering their own careers than to solve crimes, and don't forget about the vampires and other supernatural creatures that apparently plague the city. And according to Rex, it's the undead capital of the world.Basically the plot a devastating legal issue. Norah and Magdalen parents are not legally married. Mr Vanstone was married before abroad and was unable to divorce.
