Description

So zombie killing is inevitable in Zombicide and in what could be described as an ‘adaptive’ difficulty level, the game reacts to your zombie-slaying by ‘upping’ the difficulty level through the use of spawn cards.

Oh – and the fact that an abomination, the strongest zombie in the game, can only be killed in one of two ways – neither of which is easy and both of which I’ll let you discover on your own. I managed to spawn two in the first play-through – with only one being an actual objective. Conclusion All in all there are 10 missions in the core box with more to be found in expansions. One thing to mention regarding missions is that each is standalone and can be replayed as often as you like but even though it’s an RPG, your stats and gear don’t carry through from mission to mission (unless you’re crazy and don’t have time for rules – in which case, go for it!) and whilst it takes a little while to grasp the rules, once you have them – it’s really simple to teach others, so games can begin as soon as you’ve set up and everyone has chosen their favourite character(s). That is, of course, unless you’re playing solo – and that’s entirely possible too. And fun, especially if you like to play your console games on ‘hard’. Zombicide ProductionMistake: Moving zombies to the closest of multiple equal noise locations, or closest of equal noise locations in LOS. Whilst in town, the adventurers are given a specific task (or tasks) to achieve, like slaying an abomination or finding a survivor or an object, and this usually involves slow and steady planning: who will go where trigger what and grab which objective, all the while trying not to attract too much attention. Imagine a Monty Python-esque world where the cries of ‘Bring out yer dead!’ are taken literally and before you have time to spell ‘zombies’, you’re overrun by the buggers. Correct: Magic Actions only cover use of Combat Spells. Using Enchantments can only be performed via an Enchantment action. Use items such as crossbows, chainmail, swords and shields to arm and defend yourself, while casting spells and arcane magic to deter the creatures that are so set on helping you meet your demise.

Note that LOS takes precedence, but if there are two equal noise locations in LOS the horde within any particular space will still split if they are in different directions. Mistake: Assuming Zombies always take the shortest path to a target Zone, even if there is a closed door in the way. Correct: Each hit inflicts the amount of Damage specified by the Damage value of the weapon to a single target.

Correct: If there are multiple equal noise locations, regardless of distance, the zombies will split if the noise locations are in different directions (noise management is a key mechanic in the game). Correct: There is a special clause in the rules that allows Necromancers to escape via their starting Zone only in this scenario. Correct: Zombies will first try to find the shortest open path to their target Zone. Only if there is no open path will they consider the doors to be open to determine their route (but will still stop at the closed door). They will never consider paths through walls. Are you ready to take on the medieval undead? Then grab your crossbow and your teammates and take on that medieval zombie horde!
