About this deal

The application has a tutorial mode that allows you to master the rules of the game and the usage of the application itself. Also, you can play against AI opponents with different levels of difficulty. I bought this game to see if I wanted to buy the hard copy of it. I want to find a light game that my girl friend and I can play together so we can get a break from Carcassonne. This description alone, unfairly, is sometimes enough for people to predetermine whether or not they are going to like Le Havre. It’s true, a number of Rosenberg’s games have similar mechanics. If you’ve played the likes of Agricola and Caverna, then you’ll understand the accumulation spaces’ appeal. The game takes place over several years and players will need to acquire materials, build ships and buildings, and feed their workers. On the card used in Round 11 of the full game (round 9 of the short game), there should be a symbol showing that the town builds a standard building.

It’s refreshing from most games where players just swipe or tap and requires some strategy and savvy to win." - fanboynation The additional value of buildings with a plus symbol (e.g. the Bank), which depend on the other buildings that she owns. (see text and illustration on the cards) There is no limit to the size of a personal supply. All goods and Francs are placed face up and may not be concealed from the other players. A: The rule book states the following: 1 player – 60 minutes, 2 players – 120 minutes, 3 players – 180 minutes, 4 players – 200 minutes, 5 players – 210 minutes. Of course, the time strongly depends on how familiar with the rules all the players are. If there are new players who do not know how to play the game, the time may increase largely. At first it’s no big deal when you have to shell out two food tokens here, a couple of Francs there. But suddenly it’s the end of the round and you’ve got a workforce to feed and – hey, where’s all your fish and bread gone? Ah, that’s right, you just gave it all to Alex to use his Colliery. Now you’re going to have to take out a loan…

With no setup time required, no pieces to lose, and no arguments about the rules, the future of board games is here and Le Havre gives you exactly what you want — to play!

Interest for Loan cards: The word "Interest" is written on one of the seven Supply tiles. Whenever any player places a ship on this tile, all players who have taken out a loan must immediately pay exactly 1 Franc in interest, irrespective of the number of loans they have. A player who cannot pay this Franc must either sell a building or ship or take another loan card and must then pay the 1 Franc.

Even if a player's ships provide more food than must be paid, or if a player cannot pay the right amount of food (e.g. by paying with a "meat" token), she may not take the excess food. The town constructs buildings Points are earned by making money, building buildings and ships (which each have their own values), and selling goods. At the end of each round, players must be able to give food to their workers. The amount of food depends on the round number and the number of players, starting out low and gradually increasing as the game progresses. Players not planning ahead will soon find themselves with a shortage of food which will require taking loans from the Bank. Building ships can help with this food problem, as each ship will give the player a discount on their food each round (they count as trade routes which give the player more sources of food). The second number - below the Round number and in a cooking pot - shows the amount of food that each player must consume at the end of the round. You wont be able to do both on every turn you have, so the way to success is to plan what offers you should claim or what buildings to use so that you will be able to build and buy buildings and ships as often as possible. Note: In this game, Food can always be replaced 1:1 with Francs. Francs can, however, never be replaced with food.

The Main action is mandatory, and follows the Supply action. The player whose turn it is chooses one of the two Main actions: Take goods from an Offer space or Use a building action. Buildings and Ships may also be sold to the town. These actions may even be taken during another player's turn, but not while she is taking an action. Buildings and ships are sold for half of their value. When a player sells a building, it is placed with the other buildings that belong to the town. When a player sells a ship, it is placed on top of the pile of Ship cards of that type. Notes Further explanations of the building cards are included in the Buildings overview, which contains a full listing of all building cards. Building Ships To build a Ship, a player pays any required entry fee to the owner of the Wharf and then pays the building resources and 3 energy that are required to build the ship (see Ships on the reverse side of the Round cards). Players generate energy from wood (which may be upgraded to charcoal) or coal (coke). There is a Supply and a corresponding Offer space for six types of goods as well as for the 1 Franc coins, but there are only Supply spaces for the 5 Franc coins as well as for coal and hides.
