Billund, November 8, 2023: The LEGO Group today announces its biggest set within the LEGO® Marvel collection to date – the new iconic LEGO Marvel Avengers Tower set.

The vehicle looks sleek, streamlined and luxurious: in fact, far too good for use as a taxi: it's more like a limousine. The prominent curved wheel arches front and rear give it the appearance of a typical luxury 1930s car like a Rolls Royce Phantom or Citroen Traction Avant When this set was revealed, I found the taxi decidedly underwhelming, based primarily on its seemingly awkward shape. However, this model is more attractive than I expected and I think the first image was unflattering. The proportions of the vehicle are realistic and the curvature of its bonnet and windscreen looks superb, which is something LEGO cars often struggle with.Having a portion of the pavement is a nice bonus although it does stand a little proud of the LEGO Modu baseplates. Maybe a MOC could remedy this and somehow build the Taxi rank into the Boutique Hotels walkway? Regarding the 60312 police interceptor, my dad was a gearhead growing up in Detroit, and sometimes mentions that there was a car shop on Woodward Ave that could modify your car so even the cops couldn’t catch it. And then the cops took their cars to the same shop. Vintage Car has nothing to do with the Modular line besides timing. That was an Ideas contest. You did miss the pink car, though.

No official minifig taxi has ever had space for more than one passenger, at this scale I don't think more than that would be feasible. It's a shame there are big gaps in the floor though, but I suppose that if a plate was put in to conceal them there wouldn't be enough clearance between the driver's head and the windscreen?"Thank you for reading through our review of the LEGO Vintage Taxi (40532) set, we hope you e joyed it as much as we did. Well, a passenger, anyway. There’s only room here for the driver and a single rider. There is, however, space in the trunk for some luggage. Too bad our driver has already claimed that spot for his donut stash. As for the car itself, it looks great, I love that it is based on a Citroen Avant (one of my favourite cars of that era) and it also proves the usefulness of that new inverted slope piece, which I immediately recognised as perfect for vintage car fenders when it first appeared in Police Station. Not too sure I like this trend of extremely expensive GWPs… but as demonstrated in November 2021, LEGO know how to play the game to squeeze as much money as they can from their fans.
