There’s no active noise-cancelling present in these cans, and the passive isolation is quite minimal due to the Alcantara ear cups not creating as strong a seal as pleather or other materials would in its place. This latter point, as we’ve touched on, reduces the overall presence of bass frequencies as the space enclosed by the cups isn’t acting as efficiently as its own passive bass driver. This same phenomenon is typically how in-ear headphones are able to create immense bass from such tiny drivers. Battery life and connectivity The midrange extends from the bass smoothly, with a warmth and solidity built on the more prominent low-end. Voices especially seem to benefit from this tuning, and both male and female vocals have a good presence and heft.

Since the X01 transmitter accepts only an analog line-level input, the TMA-2 Studio Wireless+ have the potential to become the ultimate pair of TV viewing headphones and are suitable for any device with a headphone output but no Bluetooth support. Plain and simple looks disguise their clever and elegant design. W+ Link limitations It’s all an unpretentious and ingenious design that, at first glance, doesn’t jump out. The only branding is the debossed AIAIAI name on the top of the band, and it would be easy to assume they are just another pair of inexpensive generic Bluetooth headsets.This can be mitigated by turning the source device volume up to the maximum (or the highest level that does not cause audible distortion) and reducing the headphone volume – thus improving signal-to-noise and reducing the hiss. Still, it is never truly inaudible in silent sections within or between songs. The DJ preset consists of a S02 speaker driver with on-ear PU leather pads and a rugged H02 headband. We were sent the DJ preset alongside the range-topping HD wireless presets to review by AIAIAI. And we’re grateful to have received both pairs as it allowed us to swap between the individual parts to find what suited us best.
