Sadly even after four rounds this still didn’t have enough data to show us anything. You need to play five rounds with the device, and have logged your club choices for each with either the Garmin sensors, or enabling on the watch. You also have the extensive smartwatch functions which are a cool extra that many golf watches do not provide. Even if you're not that into the health and fitness aspects of it some of the basic features like the step counter and pulse monitor are certainly useful, as are the notifications and Garmin Pay. The Garmin S70 is a high end golf watch designed to elevate your game with its advanced features and intuitive interface. It comes with a 1.2″ or 1.4″ AMOLED display, offering crisp contrast and vibrant colors that enhance your golfing experience. The Garmin S60 Approach has long stood as the king of Garmin golf smartwatches, but upon the release of its successor, the Garmin S62, it may just well have been dethroned. Yet while it brings about numerous upgrades, it costs a lot more. So is the hefty price jump worth it? Especially for those who already own a Garmin S60. In terms of durability, we see more similarities. Both watches use Gorilla Glass 3 to help keep the face clear of scratches. In conclusion, the Garmin S70 and S62 are exceptional golf GPS watches. For the most part, both watches offer unique features to enhance your golfing experience. If you’re a beginner golfer or a tech enthusiast, you’ll find either watch a valuable addition to your game. The large 1.4″ easy-to-read AMOLED display is also a great advantage if you are going to be using the watch for more than just golf. Which Garmin GPS Watch is Best for Non-Golf Features?

UPDATE - The Garmin Approach S62 has been discontinued. The Garmin Approach S70 replaces the S62 as Garmin's flagship golf watch. Garmin has nicely improved the virtual caddie in the Garmin golf app for the S70 to take advantage of the new features. The virtual caddy provides you with advanced analytics about your golf game, including: Avid players can gain even more insight into their game after pairing the Approach S62 with the Garmin Golf ™ app for access to the new golf performance widget. Stats are calculated in the app and then sent to the watch so users can review handicap index, fairway and approach shot hit/miss percentage, and green in regulation percentage. The app even provides analysis for strokes gained and allows users to participate in leaderboards and tournaments with other players around the world. The watch comes pre-loaded with over 42,000 courses, meaning you just need to get there and the GPS will offer up the local options so you can confirm where you are, which tee you're playing off, and then get started right away. The Garmin S60 does not measure heart rate. However, you can access this feature with a compatible heart rate monitor accessory. The Garmin S62 does have this feature. Is the Garmin S62 Waterproof? The rechargeable battery on the S62 can serve you up to 20 hours of gameplay in GPS mode and 14 days in smartwatch mode. The S62 is more than just a golf watch though as it provides all sorts of other health and fitness features too. From a basic step counter to the more advanced heart rate monitor and Pulse Ox which measures blood oxygen saturation levels, the S62 has you covered. Move bar (displays on device after a period of inactivity; walk for a couple of minutes to reset it) The Garmin Approach S70 and S62 are excellent choices for beginners seeking high-quality golf watches to enhance their game without breaking the bank. These watches come with automatic course detection, digital scoring, and precise yardage to specific points on the green. For anyone in the market for a new golf watch though I would recommend paying the extra and going with the S62 if your budget allows it. The Virtual Caddie feature alone is worth the extra cost.

A new barometer sensor in the watch considers temperature and altitude, providing even more accurate yardage and driving accuracy. To begin with, the S60 is preloaded with the same data of 42,000 courses across the globe. These are viewable in color as a full vector map, and Garmin releases annual updates to add and edit existing courses. This means the feature is constantly improving. The Garmin S62 is a premier golf smartwatch to help you know where to aim and what to hit. It comes with a 1.3″ easy-to-read color touchscreen display to improve your golfing experience. The screen is even more advanced than the S42, giving you the most premium look and feel. The watch lasts just 10 hours when in golf mode, which for keen players, is insufficient as they could see their watch run out of juice by the end of a very long day. Of course, the 10-day battery period when ‘watch mode’ is on is plenty, but as a golf smartwatch, it’s pretty critical they get the golf element right! The Garmin S62 Approach is the best sports watch for avid golfers

The Approach S62 gives golfers access to essential golfing information like no other watch on the market with a style that goes beyond the clubhouse,” said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of global consumer sales. “Thanks to our new built-in Virtual Caddie and detailed course maps, the Approach S62 has the power to instantly transform into a caddie that knows you and 41,000 courses worldwide.” Pro Tip 1: For more accurate yardages you can use the touchscreen to drag the flag around the green to better reflect the pin position.
