When grouting with Mapei Keracolor Flex certain types of tile/mosaic may discolour or stain due to the surface characteristics (microporosity). Certain rough textured tiles may also be problematical when grouting. It is recommended that a trial area is carried out and where necessary an appropriate sealer is used with these tiles before grouting. Grouting particularly smooth and glossy floor surfaces (smooth and polished porcelain, pre-smoothened and polished marble, glazed tiles). This operation may also be carried out with a special machine with a sponge belt. To make removal of the hardened product from the tiles easier, a dampened Scotch-Brite pad or Kerakoll Cleaning Pad, or a rotating, single-head polisher with a felt disk may be used before cleaning with the sponge. Mapei Keracolor Flex is water repellent and flexible with excellent performance in wet areas and in areas where there is thermal change such as heated tiled floors.

While stirring, pour the Mapei Keracolor FF Tile Grout powder into a clean, rust-free container containing 23-30% by weight, dependant on grout colour, of clean water or Mapei Fugolastic (if required in the application). When grouting floors, the mixture can be made thinner by adding more water (approx. 25-32% by weight). Mix with FUGOLASTIC for improved performance in heavy duty areas such as externally on exposed facades, balconies or swimming pools with wave machines.
