Description

This path used to be known as the Beddgelert Path since it was from this village that walkers started their journey to the summit. If you’re not British, or spent much time in the United Kingdom, you may never have heard of the Ordnance Survey. Snowdonia National Park has so much to explore, but this Snowdonia National Park Underground Adventure takes you underground to an old, abandoned slate mine for a unique experience

Highlights: Ben Nevis, Glen Nevis, River Nevis, Loch Leven, The Munros, Kinlochleven, Glen Coe, Loch Leven Heritage Trail, The Mamores, The Grey Corries, Spean Brideg, Loch Leven, and Ballachulish. There are many walking routes that take in the peaks of Glyder Fawr and Glyder Fach. There are also numerous scrambles onto the top of the Glyderau but I’ve only included one in this list.Note: You may notice there are 16 mountains in this list with a height of 3000ft or more however, Castell Y Gwynt is classed only as a Nuttall rather than a Hewitt, so is not included in the Welsh 3000s and is excluded from most ‘top 10 highest’ lists. As in the route above, from the Ogwen Visitor Centre ascend to Cwm Idwal and Glyder Fawr via the Devil’s Kitchen. This is the shortest route to the summit of Glyder Fawr and takes around 3 hours. Continue onto Castell y Gwynt, Glyder Fach and the Cantilever Stone. Description: Map sheet number 192 in the OS Landranger map series is the ideal map for planning days out and holidays to Exeter and Sidmouth. Once the information is in Sage Pay's systems, all sensitive data is secured using the same internationally recognised 256-bit encryption standards used by, among others, the US Government. The encryption keys are held on state-of-the-art, tamper proof systems in the same family as those used to secure VeriSign's Global Root certificate, making them all but impossible to extract. The data we hold is extremely secure and we are regularly audited by the banks and banking authorities to ensure it remains so. There’s a tearoom near the car park if you want to reward yourself with a delicious cream tea! Llyn Cau with Cadair Idris behind View from Craig Cwm Amarch Ridge towards Mynydd Gwerngraig 4. Cnicht, Moelwyn Mawr & Moelwyn Bach Loop This loop starts from the car park at Minffordd and follows a well trodden path through a pretty wooded gorge. Be warned there are lots of steps on this trail but it at least gets lots of the climbing over and done with. For a complete guide to hiking Y Garn via the Devil’s Kitchen, see this post. Glyder Fach and Castell y Gwynt from Glyder Fawr

Highlights: The north-western area of the Cotswolds Hills, the River Severn and the Offa’s Dyke Path Keeping left at both forks the effort is soon rewarded with views of Llyn Cau and Cader peak. After admiring the views the ridge climb begins to the first summit of Craig Cwm Amarch. From this peak there is a short descent to the bwlch, before making the final climb to Cadair summit. Parking: Pay and Display but you must pre-book a parking space if you’re parking at Pen y Pass from 1 April until 30 October, 2023. If the car park is full and you are keen to walk from Pen-y-Pass you can use the Sherpa'r Wyddfa Park and Ride Service running from Nant Peris and Llanberis car parks. Once at the Bwlch there is the option to make a side trip up the South Ridge of Tryfan. This bouldery climb is the easiest route to the top of this fabulous peak and is worth the effort if time and fitness levels allow. The Cwm Bochlwyd Horseshoe is an epic Snowdonia adventure that is probably only surpassed by the Snowdon Horseshoe. This short loop consists of three grade 1 scrambles with moderate exposure. This route is recommended for experienced hikers/scramblers only. This hike starts from Glan Denau and is a trudge along the A5 to Ogwen Visitor Centre. Here begins a well made path up to Cwm Idwal. Reaching Llyn Idwal provides the first scenic view of the day. Aside from the peak of Glyder Fach and the walk through Cwm Tryfan, you will likely have this walk all to yourself. From the car park behind Joe Browns in Capel Curig, turn right onto the lane and follow it to the farm house, before taking the path onto open countryside. Whilst in Llanberis be sure to visit Pete’s Eats for a proper mug of tea and a hearty breakfast! Capel Curig
