Facilities, such as the Lilongwe Wildlife Centre have the potential to educate a large number of young people (and their parents), some of whom will go on to fill positions of authority and therefore influence the future of the country and its conservation policies. Get ready for your mission with PAW Patrol toys and playsets! Your favourite pups are now available in super pup mode with Mighty Pups Super PAWs pups and playsets, or as supercharged heroes with brand new PAW Patrol Charged Up toys. In 2011, Lilongwe Wildlife Centre became the first People and Wildlife (PAW) centre, accredited by the Born Free Foundation, acting as a best practice model for other facilities around the world. These are the basic criteria of becoming a PAW accredited facility:

First new fitness facility on North Campus since the Universiade Pavilion (Butterdome) opened in 1983.Welcome! You are on the right path to being the recipient of one of the most precious experiences in life – the love and gratitude of an animal! The project began with demolition in November 2012, which took six months to complete. The new facility was handed over to the University of Alberta in multiple phases. North Concourse on September 1, 2014, the Hanson Fitness and Lifestyle Centre on November 25, 2014 and the Wilson Climbing Centre on January 5, 2015. Traditionally we have hosed out every kennel every day but because the dogs are now clean in kennels we are able to ‘spot clean’ each day and deep clean once a week or when the kennel is vacated, whichever is sooner. This benefits the dogs in two ways, firstly ‘spot cleaning’ means familiar smells are not all cleaned away which helps the dog feel more at home, and as the animal care staff are spending less time on cleaning they can spend more time working with the dogs. We introduced the Open Paw programme for dogs first as it was much more fully developed and tested than the cat programme. As this was a very new way of working, we ran a pilot in the intake kennels at NAWT’s Watford Centre in July 2015, and then gradually rolled it out to the rehoming kennels at Watford. In Autumn 2015 Cornwall became the next Open Paw centre, with Berkshire and Clacton following in early 2016.

We rely on flight buddies to fly over our animals so this means the animals arrive at an airport where the human air passenger is travelling to. As part of our transportation, we try to bring the animal as close as possible to you. Often up to five animals travel together and it’s not always possible to drop off each at their new homes as these could be from Land’s End to John O’Groats. We will work with you in finding a suitable meeting point from where we would ask your help to meet us and take your new family member home. The biggest doggy daycare centre in the whole of the UK, it offers both indoor and outdoor play areas, as well as classes for dog owners to learn and have fun. The centre offers stimulation and support for dogs as they learn and play in their huge play zone, which is always supervised and helped by our outstanding team of "waggy tail-makers."

Our services

The climbing wall consists of versatile, modular climbing structures that are among the highest in the country PAWS was located in the Todmorden area and covered a 15 mile radius of the town centre. We are well known for our coffee mornings, having a market stall, organising local events such as dog shows, fetes, Christmas Fairs and offering help to those in need in terms of food to local food banks, help with cat neutering vouchers and giving advice on rehoming and adoption. We rehome widely across the region and take in animals within our catchment area. However, following a notice of our landlord regarding re-possession of Eastwood Road, which we rented, a search began in earnest to ensure the long-term continuation of PAWS’ services to the local communities. Paw Haus are working with other UK-based partners by also offering a wide range of handmade and specialist doggy treats and cakes, as well as other items for play and support like Dogrobes. We went on to work with cat behaviourists to develop a feline version of Open Paw, and all of our catteries adopted the Open Paw programme by the end of 2017. What is different with Open Paw?Often, the adoption donation only covers part of the costs of caring for and transporting the dog or cat but should ever there be money left over, then this will be used towards feeding and medicating other animals in our care, and of course rescuing those in need. Thank you! Transport Within 24 hours we noticed the dogs on the pilot were calmer, the noise level of barking had dropped significantly and the dogs seemed more relaxed. Most of the dogs were clean in their kennels within that time span, although a couple took a few more days to learn. Because it can be expensive to get animals ready for the UK, we try and only prepare our animals for UK travel once someone falls in love with them. You can find the profiles of many more animals here which we could get ready for UK travel: We charge an adoption donation to cover the costs of looking after and treating the dogs and cats we rescue and of course their travel to the UK. Level 2– Teaching dogs to be calm when people enter and exit the kennel, including putting on the lead

The team also provide training, puppy classes, breed-specific events and even birthday parties. Paw Haus believe it can help people to have the best possible time with their dogs. The glazing was upgraded from double to triple pane under the Energy Management Program. The high performance glazing contributes to reduced solar loading.
