use of the content you supply does not violate these Terms of Use and will not cause injury to any person or entity. The Samsung M8 isn’t quite so good when it comes to colour coverage, with just 85% and 88% coverage for the Adobe RGB and DCI-P3 profiles respectively. This means you can find better monitors suited to colour-sensitive work for creative professionals, although those scores are still plenty high enough for more casual work. Everything you need is right on your screen. Watch, work and chat - all without connecting a separate PC - with Smart Monitor. Your favourite content, productivity and video call apps are built-in for a simpler and stylish desk setup that's a joy to use every time.

Turn your Smart Monitor into a control center for the home by connecting it to your IoT home products with SmartThings. Relax by turning off the lights, pulling down the blinds and setting the thermostat to the perfect temperature all with the Smart Monitor for a perfectly relaxed evening. Little else has been upgraded, with Samsung refraining from making any tweaks to the 4K screen. That makes it difficult to justify upgrading between models, but which offers the best value for newcomers? After spending a couple of weeks with the Samsung M8 Smart Monitor (2023), here are my thoughts. Design Initial setup is easy peasy, with the stand slotting effortlessly into the screen’s rear. You will need to screw the stand into its base, but the screw is included and only takes a matter of seconds to tighten. Once assembled, the monitor has a secure base, so you shouldn’t need to worry about accidental topples. that violates any law, statute, ordinance or regulation (including, but not limited to, those governing export control, consumer protection, unfair competition, anti-discrimination or false advertising); Sensational picture, day or night. Surrounding light is detected by a sensor to adjust brightness automatically with Adaptive Picture. Even in broad daylight, watch dark, gritty dramas without squinting and straining your eyes to see the picture. However, I found this feature to be a pain to set up, requiring use of the SmartThings app. You seemingly only get full functionality when using a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, and so will likely alienate the majority of its user base.

The M8 uses Samsung’s own Tizen operating system, which has an abundance of pre-installed apps and features. It feels very similar to the experience of a modern day smart TV. The speakers aren't anything special, which is what you expect for built-in monitor speakers. They don't produce any bass, and they don't get loud, though they're fine for listening to dialogue. You can see the results using the laptop speaker methodology below:

Plan Benefits

It has a detachable webcam that connects to the monitor with the proprietary connection. The video quality isn't bad, but the microphone sounds terrible. You can see an example here. The webcam has a few extra features too, like auto-zoom that centers you in the frame when you move around, but that only works with certain apps. I’m disappointed with Samsung’s efforts when it comes to sustainability. Recycled plastics have not been used for the monitor’s construction, and there’s excessive plastic and polystyrene in the box. The M8 Smart Monitor also has a G rating in the Energy Efficiency Class, which is the worst possible score. This is a big disappointment, especially since Samsung has made such big eco-friendly strides for its smartphones and laptops. Screen The USB type-C port enables you to power up, transmit data, and even send display signals between devices with just one connection. Its single connection architecture brings an enjoyable work environment that's both clutter-free and stress-free.

Clarified that the newer version of this monitor, the Samsung Smart Monitor M8/M80C S32CM80, has a removable stand so you can wall-mount it.that is, or may reasonably be considered to be, defamatory, libelous, hateful, racially or religiously biased or offensive, unlawfully threatening or unlawfully harassing to any person or entity; I’m a big fan of the design of the Samsung M8 Smart Monitor (2023). It looks almost identical to its 2022 predecessor, but it’s difficult to see where else Samsung could have improved. Key Information:

Replaced the Controls photo with one with the included remote as it's easier to use the remote to navigate through the menu. One use case is a feature called Workspace, which acts as a hub for your work-related web services, such as Microsoft 365 applications. Another is Game Home, which collects all your game streaming in one place and easily connects to controllers. That’s a lot of functionality for a monitor. Pictures with precision. UHD resolution ensures every piece of content is brought to life beautifully. HDR 10+ support with a billion colours and sRGB 99% creates brighter and darker scenes for more enhanced settings without losing any vivid detail, so you can enjoy content exactly as it was intended. I reviewed the Samsung M8 (2022) last year and was really impressed with the high-quality display and bounty of smart features. Jump forward to 2023, and Samsung has updated its monitor with enhanced smart features such as My Contents, as well as a full-size HDMI port, new pivot functionality and the addition of a new 27-inch model along with the standard 32-inch design reviewed here.Availability limited to source devices which support 21:9 output. May function differently depending on game or content being viewed. Keep your eye on the win. Adjust your screen to 21:9 to discover hidden areas in game scenes with Ultrawide Game View. Now when you play football games, see more of the pitch right up to the goalposts. And in driving games, get a natural and encompassing view of the road ahead. No more switching around. With Automatic Source Switch Plus, your monitor detects newly connected devices as soon they're plugged in, and displays the correct signal. No more searching for the right input on the menu. With 2.2Ch built-in speakers, the M8 provides richer, more realistic sounds for an immersive overall experience. The upgraded Adaptive Sound+ adjusts sound based on the type of content and noise levels within a user's environment, delivering refined and tailored audio that adapts in real-time. Samsung hasn’t made any changes to the screen for the Samsung M8 Smart Monitor (2023) compared to its 2022 predecessor. That’s disappointing, as it would have been nice to have the option of an OLED or Mini LED panel, or even a higher refresh rate, but this is nonetheless an excellent display.
