We recommend giving your water bottle a wash every time you finish using it. The best way to clean them is using hot water and washing fluids rather than using a dishwasher, as some models aren't dishwasher-friendly. Boisterous or busy toddler on your hands? Kids aged 3+ won’t argue over the Camelbak Eddy (we can hope…) thanks to the fun, adventurous designs. They’re made for flip, bite and sip use with a straw, a button-press lid and a valve that delivers a steady flow. Important for active toddlers, they’re supposedly leak proof when closed and spill-proof when open, and our Mumsnetter’s review supports that. Say what you will about those motivational phrases posted on the side (“Do I really need my water bottle to talk to me like a dog…?”), but I kinda like ‘em. It adds a little boost to my bachelor pad, and not for nothing, but sometimes I forget to hydrate. Glass prevents anything unwanted from getting into your fluids, and most plastic bottles are classified as BPA-free. However, rememeber to wash your bottles regularly to keep them safe and clean.

While many of the water bottles on this list are meant for mobility, the S’well Roamer can practically double as a kettlebell. (It weighs nearly 6 pounds totally when filled with water.) In fact, S’well markets the Roamer as “your new on-the-go pitcher,” which is great, because I wasn’t planning on lugging this thing to my next HIIT workout. It comes in two large sizes (40 oz and 64 oz), and a variety of stunning designs, such as Teakwood, Blue Cornflower, Sunkissed, and Night Sky. If you’re looking for something smaller, S’well offers a variety of more diminutive mugs and bottles. The stainless steel exterior is simple and elegant, yet built for some abuse; it’s designed to keep drinks hot for 12 hours, or cold for 24. Other color options are available, but they’re a lot more muted than what you’ll find with other water bottles. Get a Doidy Cup! They're brilliant, good size for little hands and angled so they can see the water coming at them. My toddler had one from 6 months and she much preferred it to a sippy cup. Takes a little while (and a lot of spills) to get used to but definitely worth it’ - highly recommended by Mumsnet user, HereComesFrog. Our Verdict Just because you’re using cutting-edge tech doesn’t mean the end result can’t be satisfactorily simple. The Purist Mover, which is part of a larger collection of bottles that range from 10 to 32-ounce capacities, has an outer wall constructed from 304 stainless steel, and an inner wall made from surgical-grade, 316 stainless steel. What sets this water bottle apart, however, is the 60-nanometer-thin glass coating on the inside, which prevents any metallic tastes (or a hint of last week’s coffee) from polluting your hydration experience. Plus, this makes it easier to clean. If you're trying to be more mindful in your water bottle choices when choosing the best water bottle for workouts, consider glass. Stainless steel bottles are also proving popular, and both options are safe, durable, and toxin-free. What is the safest water bottle to drink from? Metal bottles made from stainless steel or aluminum are also safe, but each material comes with its own pros and cons, from how durable they are to how easy your bottle is to wash or how heavy it might be.

We’re always fans of a product that does two jobs at once, like this clever little beaker which also functions as a nightlight! Invented by a dad and industrial engineer, the Litecup has a smart, well-thought-through design in a range of colours. It’s a 360-degree free-flow spout to let children sip from any side of the cup; it has easy-to-grab handles; and it boasts a light-up base. Just bear in mind that if you're using the lid for nighttimes, it won’t be completely free-flow.Another vote for the Tommy Tippee Free-Flow. My son drinks water out of this and gets all excited when he sees the cup” - voted for by Mumsnet user, SabrinaTheThirtySomethingWitch. Our Verdict Straw: Sippy cups that come with a straw attached or included, rather than a spout, help to get your child used to drinking from a straw and a cup, for when they eventually get there. With a straw, your child won’t have to tip or lift their cup - nice and easy.
