Inserting a nose ring can be challenging, especially if it's your first time or the ring is too small (or your nose hasn’t properly healed from the piercing). One solution to this issue is to use a lubricant such as petroleum jelly or water-based lubricant. This will make inserting the nose ring easier and less painful. Here are answers to some of the questions you may still have about finding the perfect nose ring size. What size is a normal nose ring? The 'size' (or 'length') refers to the distance between the two balls (see the 'Barbell' illustration above). Whilst you are likely to only find sizes 12mm and 14mm in the high street shops, many of our own tongue bars are available in sizes as low as 6mm, right through to 20mm and beyond. This means no more excess bar showing! Simply choose your desired size by selecting from the 'Size' drop-down box. The standard lengths of nose piercings are 1/4” (6.35 mm) to 5/16” (7.94 mm). However, when you initially get your piercing, you’ll have to wear a stud with a longer post to give room for swelling.

How to Measure Your Nose Ring Size

Yes, your nose ring size matters. Wearing a small or large nose ring will affect your piercing, especially if it’s still healing. A small nose ring will pull against your piercing hole, while a large nose ring will give too much room for movement. Both cases can lead to irritation. CBR/BCR: The Captive Bead Ring or Ball Closure Ring is used in many types of piercing. It can be placed in a nose piercing and is held together by a ball with two small indents for placing onto the ring.

Belly bars have two main sizing aspects for you to take into consideration: the gauge and the size (both discussed above). The standard gauge for a belly bar is 1.6mm and all of our standard belly bars are 1.6mm gauge. Seamless nose rings are a popular choice due to their minimalistic look. Unlike other hoop styles with a visible seam, seamless hoops are constructed from a single piece of metal bent into a ring. They're easy to insert and create a sleek, seamless appearance that works well for those wanting a more subtle look. Segments Twist prong nose rings have a unique design with a twisted post that gives the illusion of two pieces of jewelry in one. The prongs hold the jewelry in place and provide a secure fit, making them ideal for daily wear. Bone Prong Say “goodbye” to buying nose rings that are too snug or loose. You can get it right the first time after reading this explainer guide. This nose ring style gets its name from its shape, with a straight post and a 90-degree angle that fits snugly against the inside of the nostril. The prongs hold the jewelry in place, making it an excellent choice for those who enjoy an active lifestyle. Twist Prong

Your nose ring is too small if it’s touching your nostril and creating pressure on it. Also, if you can’t close the ring or find it hard to take off, it’s likely the wrong diameter for your nose piercing. Why does my nose ring keep popping out? L-shaped stud (a single stud that is curved at the end to give it an L shape to hook into the nostril)
