Description

The upper combines a durable mesh with fused overlays and a stitched toe bumper for protection. The lining isn’t waterproof, so do not expect any water resistance. This shoe is gusseted, so the tongue is effective at keeping debris out of the shoe. And if you haven’t already realized it, this is the least expensive adizero adios so far. SHOES SIMILAR TO THE ADIDAS ADIZERO ADIOS 6 The configurations of these two shoes illustrate their different vocations. The Takumi Sen 8 has carbon plates (Energy Rods) which is not the case of the Adios 6. Then, the TS is much lighter, with 1.8 oz/50 g less on the scale! However, when trying easy runs during a more intense training week, I did find it was too hard on my body. I’d personally restrict it to faster sessions, even if it is more cushioned than past iterations of the shoe. The tongue could use a little bit more padding, as when using the extra eyelet, the laces can press a little bit into the top of the foot. I didn’t notice it over the course of my run. It could be slightly improved . The heel has a pull tab featuring extra padding, yet is low enough not to aggravate my achilles. This is an excellent upper clearly designed with maximizing breathability and minimizing weight in mind. It matches the lightweight and precise personality of the shoe.

The Ultraboost problem: This shoe is immensely successful, and not because it’s a versatile running shoe. It does well because it’s a great everyday sneaker that offers plenty of ride comfort and hard-wearing build quality. All that to say, things have changed a bit around here. The Boston 10 was enjoyed by some but reviled by many. Faithful Boston fans had more than a feeling about the changes and were looking for peace of mind with the Adios 6. Could this be the shoe that the Boston was meant to be?Instead of a full-length Carbon plate with a flat profile, the adios Pro V3 uses parallel Carbon tubes under the midfoot and forefoot. Nevertheless, the running economy offered by the TS is not without a trade-off. Indeed, runners note that it’s a bit unstable at times, especially when turning. In addition, its racing configuration makes it uncomfortable at slow speeds. The Adios 6, on the other hand, is more stable and more versatile as it can accommodate a broader range of paces. Takumi Sen or Adios: which one to choose? Even the Mizuno Wave Rider 26 will run rings around the adidas Solarglide, so that’s saying something.

Therefore, adding some padding to the tongue would have been a great idea and we expect to see that in its next update. The last year’s Takumi-Sen 8 changed everything. It abandoned the racing flat minimalism of the Takumi-Sen 7 in favor of ride comfort. Whereas the Takumi-Sen 7 was perfect for short-distance racing (like a 5K or 10k), the Takumi-Sen 8’s Lightstrike Pro midsole turned it into a completely different beast. The Adios, on the other hand, is more of a daily trainer, but don’t call it slow. After all, it was the shoe of choice of the great champion Haile Gebrselassie. Proof that it has some power under the hood if you need it! With or without carbon plate? Delivery timescales are based on working days; Public Holidays, Saturday's and Sunday's are NOT classed as working days. The Adios 6 midsole is a unique blend of the two foams that compose it, Lightstrike and Lightstrike Pro. The Lightstrike is a traditional lightweight, relatively firm EVA, while the Lightstrike Pro is a mysterious super lightweight and responsive foam which is also in the world record breaking Adios Pro 1 & 2 ( RTR Review) and super cushioned Prime X ( RTR Review ).It's not unknown that Adidas running shoes are killing it in the style department, and the Adios 7 is no exception. It can be painful to choose just one of the shoe's striking colorways. A durable worthwhile investment That brings us to models like the Brooks Hyperion Tempo, a lightweight speed trainer with a firmly cushioned midsole. My only complaint is that there is a section of exposed Lightstrike Pro in the middle so I’d be concerned about the durability in trail conditions because of that. However, this is intended to be a road shoe, and the traction for that is impeccable. I don’t have enough miles on them yet to comment on durability, but haven’t seen any noticeable wear so far. The first couple of runs I did in the Adios 6 were easy base runs, with the second progressing to a steady pace by the end. I was impressed by the level of cushioning in the shoe and I think it may work well as a versatile option for someone who prefers a firm ride and more feel for the ground even on easy efforts.

McDonald, K. A., Stearne, S. M., Alderson, J. A., North, I., Pires, N. J., & Rubenson, J. (2016). The role of arch compression and metatarsophalangeal joint dynamics in modulating plantar fascia strain in running. PloS one , 11 (4), e0152602. Unlike most running shoes that offer just one extra eyelet at each side, the Adizero Adios 7 comes with 6 more, 3 on each side, giving you the flexibility to adjust the fit for a perfect, snug fit.

One downside is that the Adios 7 fits about 6 mm. longer than the other Adizeros I’ve run in: Tempo 9, Adizero Pro, and Adizero SL. The Adizero Takumi Sen is not the most well-known shoe in the Adidas series. However, it’s highly respected for short distances. For example, Rhonex Kipruto wore the Sen 5 when he broke the men’s 10K world record in 26:24.

Foams are where the magic is these days. The Adios 6 uses two compounds to provide a stable ride with some toe-off pop — Lightstrike in the heel and Lightstrike Pro in the forefoot. The sensation feels similar to the propulsion you get from the Air Zoom Unit in the Nike Pegasus. No longer the premier racer, what distance or training suits the shoe? Quite simply — where does it fit in? The Good Just get the durable and comfortable Solarglide 4 for easy days. And if you have too much money and don’t know where to spend it, the adizero adios Pro 2 is a good use of cash. The adios 6 is very forefoot strike-friendly due to its beveled heel midsole that stays close to the edge of the upper. The Sonic 3 Accelerate is also a lightweight trainer with mostly EVA foam and features a vibration dampening Obtivibe insert at the heel which actually makes the ride smooth in a way similar to the Lightstrike Pro in the forefoot of the Adios 6. This Obtivibe insert gives the Sonic a smoother heel strike that feels better on descents but that’s pretty much the only thing I prefer about it, and the Accelerate used to be a big favorite. The upper, weight, ride, and outsole all feet better on the Adios 6.

In our review of the new adios 6, we said that it was the old Boston 9 – a low-profile pacer that is easier on the feet than traditional racers. The adizero adios 7 has the same midsole and outsole as the adios 6, so how it feels under the foot hasn’t changed. Just like the Adios Pro 2, the Pro 3’s midsole is made of two layers of Lightstrike Pro foam together with the Energyrods tubes. This setup delivers a comfortable yet snappy ride that’s now become a hallmark of cushioned high-end racers. Our measurements show a 46.6% decrease between the two points we measured: 99.1 mm at the widest point and 67.6 mm where the big toe lands. In comparison, a similar shoe like the Nike ZoomX Streakfly has a 27.4% decrease with measurements of 95.4 mm and 74.9 mm, respectively.
