Description

On the one hand, the Chaos Marines box is the single lowest savings on offer. On the other, it has the most solid set of units in terms of bread and butter stuff that you’re likely going to want all of. It’s a bit hard to make a judgment on Chaos right now – vanilla CSM are, broadly, crap – but if you were looking for a starter Chaos force, you can’t really go wrong with a box of CSM, a box of Terminators, a box of Havocs, and a Chaos Lord, and a daemon engine. One, or even two, of these is a great way to get moving on a Chaos army and contentedly paint away in anticipation of a new codex which will hopefully do for this collection of units what the recent Marine codex did for their loyalist equivalents. T’au Empire – Starpulse Cadre

The Tyranids have invaded the galaxy from beyond the intergalactic void, their hive fleets slithering like tendrils into every region of the galaxy. Driven by the imperatives of the almighty Hive Mind, their swarms sweep over world after world in a living tide of biological killing-machines and seek to devour every last shred of biomass in their path.It is interesting that the two space marine boxes have different artwork to the rest, does this suggest they are more than battle boxes? My hope is that they are part of an ongoing range. After all, each would be a great starting box for both Imperial Fists and Raven Guard. Obviously, some repeat SM (some flavor of Marine), Chaos (of sorts) Tau, and Nids. There almost always seem to be two Xenos, with a wild card of one extra Imperial or Xenos box. This roadmap was revealed on November 18, 2023 at the Warhammer World Championship, and details all major releases of 2023/2024. We’ll add the releases to their proper sections below as they get proper reveals later this year. Season Releases and Campaign Books Crusade: Pariah Nexus The skies of the Mortal Realms are yours with this massive battleforce – a fleet of airborne Kharadron Overlords armed to the gunnels with aethermatic weaponry! This set gives you a fully-flying force that’s mobile, deadly on the battlefield, and rewarding to build and paint, all for less than you’d pay getting the models separately. Personally, if I was committed to using the Balefleet box, I’d go with a Land Raider and more Chaos Terminators. It’s a lot of points but you can really make them the utility unit you’ll need to do stuff. I’d probably still keep the Boarding Action box because I like Abaddon in this list and the extra bodies are good for objective holding. That means I would want to find a way to max out the Chaos Space Marine Legionaries just to have a unit of 10. The List

If you are new to Battleforce boxes let me start with a warning you should probably heed. they sell out. FAST! FOMO is naturally true with these boxes. It’s always been the case and I expect the same to be true this year. Known for their stealth tactics and use of Cultist forces seeded and outfitted ahead of their arrival, Alpha Legion work well with most units thanks to being more difficult to hit from a distance, helping them close the gaps. The rules for the Alpha Legion tend to favor versatility and subterfuge, and they have several rules that can apply to Cultists by virtue of just being INFANTRY-keyworded, though you may find they don’t necessarily want to run a ton of cultists. This is an interesting move by GW, as the boxes are made specifically for the new game format. We’ll have to see pricing on these, but if they price them right, it could be a decent way to start up a new force and get to playing some boarding action games all in one go. This new Kasrkin model, inspired by a piece of Karl Kopinski artwork, is the 40k choice of free miniature for anyone with a Warhammer+ subcription in 2023/2024. It was revealed on August 25, 2023. Remember previously, there are generally only four boxes for AoS, so the choices are slightly more limited and more pronounced for them. Where Do the Battleforce Contents Come From? The various factions of the 41st Millennium are now forced to undertake Boarding Actions against these twisted space hulks, with small, elite forces clashing in their claustrophobic confines. Grundstok Gunhaulers – fast airships armed with aethermatic weapons ideal for providing heavy fire support to your forces. Here’s the savings and value breakdown for the two Boarding Patrol and Warhammer 40k Arks of Omen Battleforce box sets! Again some older sculps but some that would go nicely alongside your new Mega-Gargant. Note to wife if you read this, 1 Mega Gargant this year please, and remember dear, he’s much cheaper at Element Games.
