PLOT: Millie really needed a job. She interviewed for a housekeeper position with Nina Winchester, who has a husband and a daughter. Never in her wildest dreams, did she ever think that she would get the job. AND IF YOU HAVE READ THIS BOOK, PUT DOWN WHATEVER YOU’RE READING AND GRAB ANOTHER FREIDA MCFADDEN BOOK!!

I gave the ending 5/5 because it's women's history month and that's all I can say without spoiling it i think these quotes sum up how i feel about this little girl. not only was she creepy, but she was such a little brat omg. But I’m always playing Nancy Drew while I’m reading. Looking for bread crumbs, piecing clues together. So starting this book. Best thing for me. Everything about this book is just perfection, it also has short chapters which I love, meaning you can always read "one more chapter". The characters were great too, I loved Millie, she is such a bad ass! I loved more characters as the book went on but won't say too much as I want to keep my review spoiler free. Someone has ended up dead in the prologue of the novel. Is it one of these three? Or was one of them the murderer? What happened in the Winchester household after the new maid was appointed?do you know those movies about the scary cult of, like, creepy kids who can read minds and worship the devil and live in the cornfields or something? well, if they were casting for one of those movies, this girl would get the part. they wouldn’t even have to audition her. they would take one look at her and be like, yes, you are creepy girl number three. Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own. If you know your domestic thrillers, you'll know that the above character analysis will change over the course of the novel. The characters were unbelievable at times. In spite of this, I enjoyed their idiosyncrasies. A thriller can’t be twisty without characters who generate mixed feelings in you. It’s boring to have thrillers with clearly delineated good or bad characters. The characters in this book will test your loyalties towards them.

I love trying to figure out what is going to happen, where the plot is going, who is telling the truth, who is reliable, etc. This one kept me on my toes. I found it to be fun, dramatic, surprising, and hard to put down! I was obsessed with this story… couldn’t get through the story fast enough… I was continuously gasping or saying “noooooo” out loud .” Sarah in Readerland And what about the "translating apps" that Millie mentions in the very beginning of the book, hoping that they'll help her communicate with Enzo, except then she never uses them, never mentions them again and spends the rest of the novel complaining that she has no way of communicating with Enzo?

Then we have Andrew Winchester. He makes a lot of money, is so very handsome, and seems to be a wonderful father and husband. Millie can’t stop herself from fantasizing about him. He seems perfect in every way to her and cannot understand why Nina isn’t over the moon about him.
