About this deal

Another thing to look at is the Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) per watt as this helps you identify the most energy efficient air purifier. The higher the CADR/Watt rate the more energy efficient the air purifier is. We’re not sure how well that works in practice, but the UA-HD40U-L is impressively efficient at filtering out impurities and very quiet at its automatic and low-power settings. A strip on the top turns from red to orange to green to indicate the current air quality, and there’s a humidity readout so you can monitor humidity levels, although both this and the “ion shower” feature can be turned off if you just want air purification. Well designed and easy to use, this is a great air purifier for smaller rooms.

Most people are pleasantly surprised when they invest in a quality air purifier. Because it can improve the air environment for the whole family, remove all kinds of bacteria in the air, prevent people from inhaling them, and make the home life of parents and children better. The biggest impact is on cardiovascular and respiratory health but there is evidence that air pollution can have widespread effects,” she says. “Exposure to air pollution during pregnancy, for instance, is linked to low birth weights and pre-term births. Particulate matter associated with road traffic has also been found on the placenta.” Spending more will get you something quieter with more power, but this is a decent little purifier for a small lounge, home office or bedroom if you’re working on a similarly sized budget. It’s as a purifier that we’re recommending it here. The Purifier Cool Autoreact offers an extremely high level of filtration, with a fully-sealed H13 HEPA system rated to remove 99.95 percent of particles down to 0.1 microns and a carbon filter to remove odours, harmful gases and VOCs (volatile organic compounds – see FAQ section below).Features: The powerful airflow can also clean the entire room with maximum range, and the quiet operation does not affect the air supply effect. What we really like about this purifier, however, is that it’s both effective and pretty quiet about it. At full tilt, it’s as noisy as most rival air purifiers, but in its sleep mode you’d struggle to hear it above ambient sound levels – we measured the output at just 31dBA. In our deodorant spray test, the H-Purifier 500 got the PM2.5 concentration down to safe levels within two minutes and eight seconds, and Hoover’s three-filter purification system has been approved by the Allergy UK charity. We’re not 100% sure about the option to add essential oils to the airflow, but the options include an H-Biotics bottle that adds probiotic “good” bacteria to the atmosphere. All in all, it’s a superior purifier that’s perfect for mid-sized and larger rooms, with a price tag that won’t leave you gasping. A few high-end units double as humidifiers, managing the moisture in the air to prevent dry air causing irritation to the nose, throat, lips and skin. It’s extremely easy to set up, just a case of inserting the filters in the base and turning it on. Operation via the remote and the little screen on the unit is straightforward, too. If you’ve never seen a domestic air purifier, this is exactly what you imagined it would be like.

Two Size:Another feature of this air purifier fan is that it comes in two sizes. The 18-inch machine is their best-selling machine. I think after using the vacuum cleaner, the 18-inch machine is more suitable for home use. It is relatively light and suitable for moving. Of course, a 46-inch machine is a better choice for large rooms. The 46-inch filtering capacity will be more powerful Some purifiers have a built-in timer. This can be really useful if you want your machine to come on a few hours before you get home, or if you want to turn it off automatically at night.

Do air purifiers help with allergies?

You’re more likely to know Acer for its PCs, laptops or monitors, but its foray into air purifiers shows a lot of promise. The Pro P2 is a mid-sized tower – just under 58cm tall – with the top accommodating the fan’s grille, the minimal controls, and a 1.5in square OLED colour screen. The latter gives you the current PM2.5 reading, plus an at-a-glance air quality indicator, with the text turning from green through amber to magenta as it worsens. Speed settings. Most air purifiers have a choice of speeds so you can keep it lower for sleeping and turn it up when the pollen count is high. A night mode can also help if you want a quiet setting and dimmer lights while you sleep, although we found this doesn’t always work as well as you’d hope. The CADR rate measures how much air is filtered in cubic metres per hour (m 3ph) of clean, purified air produced. The higher the CADR rating, the cleaner the air in the room will become. As a rule, if the square root of the CADR rating matches the floor area of the room – eg 625m 3ph in a 25m 2 room – it is an excellent air purifier. Three-quarters is good and half is acceptable. You may see CADR measured in cubic feet per hour on American devices, but the maths is the same. Why are people suddenly scrambling to get their hands on the best air purifiers? Poor air quality can lead to a range of health complaints. The problem is particularly acute in our cities: poor air quality outside can cause poor air quality indoors. If your air purifier has a dehumidifier then it may also have a compressor, which will make it more expensive to run.
