In this section, we detail the consistency of the Mizuno RB Tour. It’s a measure of how similar the balls in our sample were to one another, relative to all of the models we’ve tested to date. Mizuno’s entry to the United States golf ball market may have only happened in the past couple of years, but the preparations for the launch of Mizuno’s golf balls have been a long time coming. When assessing the pros and cons of the RB 566 balls, you will notice that there are no downsides to the ball’s performance. Instead, the only areas for improvement are related to its appearance rather than use, demonstrating the exceptional performance offered by the Mizuno RB 566. Pros: Choosing the right golf balls for your needs and playing style is essential and vital in ensuring that you are equipped for success.

Extensive testing and development have meant that Mizuno was able to immediately enter the market with a choice of high-performance, quality golf balls that are able to shake up the competition and disrupt the status quo. But, what all of these balls have in common is impressive features at a lower cost than comparable balls made by competing brands. The RB Tour stayed true to its claims and was able to remain steady even when played in crosswinds and headwinds. The RB Tour (and the RB Tour X) is a low-launch/high-spin offering. It’s overstating it a bit to call it “unique” but its space in the ball-fitting world is where not everyone plays … at least not at retail. It’s a tail end of the bell curve offering where the only legitimate performance comps are the Volvik S4 (perhaps the most extreme example of a low launch/high spin golf ball) and what now is the prior Gen of the Kirkland three-piece ball. The RB 566 scuff pretty easily, so you may notice that marks and cuts on the balls appear soon after you start using them. The aerodynamic design of the D-Dimple pattern reduces drag and keeps the ball moving straight through the air for longer. Whether you prefer a hard or soft feel ball is a matter of personal taste, but if a soft ball with low compression is your preference, you will find the RB 566 ball ideal.

Even if you have an old favorite brand that you have played for many years, there is no harm in changing things up a bit every now and then by trying a new product. Although some golfers may not enjoy the plastic sound off the putter face, this is just a small complaint that many people won’t even notice and does not take anything away from the ball’s performance.

It’s perhaps not entirely accurate to say the point of the Mizuno RB Tour golf ball is to be different. However, it’s absolutely true that Mizuno made a conscious decision not to produce something akin to a Pro V1.
