Note: I'll be getting into several spoilers here so if you haven't finished it yet then go no further! Now as far as the Kingdoms of Hell is concerned I certainly did not expect it this way. Yes, I knew Amelia was due for her own little adventure. However, I waited the whole book for my vampire king. I’m surprised with the fact that I enjoyed this book so much even tho my king wasn’t in it! Lucius' story is a 12 book book series in its own right. It takes place after a lot of the other stories yet to be told but these books are out now as no-one wanted to wait to know our Vampire Kings story. And Steph did not want to wait to write it!!!!

Finally, I get to the 9th book in the Transfusion series and realized EVEN THAT is to be continued, and now I have even more unanswered questions. The wrong use of the word ' as' is so numerous it would take a chapter on its own to describe. Let's just say it is far too many mistakes for a writer of this many books not to have learned proper writing skills at some point.

Also the relationship between him and Lucifer was rather interesting. The comment he makes at the end of chapter three, when he says "you will bring me my queen"...it makes me wonder if her other novel 'devil in me' is set in the same universe as this, if that's so then is he referring to lily? Because lucius was never in that book...eh maybe I'm just reading too much into it. Another thing I'm curious about is whether or not lucius is actually the king of death, because I feel like in one of either the later afterlife books, which of course would've taken place way earlier than this series, they mentioned the king of death and how he'd already found his electus(I could be wrong though, of course).

The heroine keeps rambling, every noun deserves its own inner monologue - written in a way the author may have thought would be entertaining/funny and make the heroine likable... VERY TRANSPARENT TO THE POINT OF CRINGEY. I have been invested in many of the different Afterlife series. Lucius was always a favorite of mine and I was slightly disappointed with his characters interactions with Amelia. It just wasn’t the same “heat” as with he and Kiera.
