About this deal

As for the weight, we’ve got to say that this might be the lightest we’ve ever seen at less than 4 pounds. So, get ready, this piano will be getting an automatic plus one for every road trip you have planned. The bummer with the SA 77 is that a power source is not included. The plus side is that it can be powered by 6 AA batteries for long periods of time. This makes it so you can take this keyboard anywhere you go, without needing a power source. Lesson Function Of The SA 77 But we’ve got to put in a caveat here. There’s no piano tutor on the planet that will teach your kid with a 44-key piano. A 61-key, some might try. But ultimately, they will tell you, and it’s the truth, that an 88-key keyboard is best even for starters. For starters, this mini keyboard is obviously smaller than other keyboards, but with 44 mini-sized keys and the features, options, and functionality, this makes it the ultimate portable keyboard. Get ready for 44 keys and 100 different tones that are extremely easy for your child to navigate through.

You get 8 note polyphony with the SA 77. This is more than plenty, seeing how toddlers won’t be playing chords that contain this many notes so early on. Using The SA 77 As A Secondary Keyboard Play along with ten exciting in-built tunes. With this boost, you'll be making music straight away, learning just the melody while the keyboard plays the rest. With Casio, you can enjoy developing your skills at your own pace. The perfect musical introduction Now, get this straight, we can’t call the Casio SS-76 an entry-level keyboard. Because, as we said earlier, it is not. Casio made this keyboard for a specific demography – kids! And in fact, not every kid can use this. An 8-count polyphony naturally gets us concerned and then we remember that this isn’t for serious playing. So, maybe it isn’t such a big deal after all.

Reviews

Speakers are 33% of the surface area of the top of the keyboard, which is space that could be used to add better features / poor design Power Supply: Optional UK Power supply (AD-E95100LG) or EU Power supply (AD-E95100L) (sold separately) or 6 AA-Size Batteries (Not Included) Please note that this extended warranty is currently only available on products sold within the UK, EU or EEA, and is subject to the terms and conditions as detailed on the extended warranty certificate provided.

However, the Gear4music extended warranty scheme provides an enhanced service, and is designed to offer a higher level of protection than many 'free' warranties offered by some retailers and manufacturers. Because of this, you get a product that may not blow you away sonically, but rather grab your kids attention and rope them in to a user-friendly experience. We’ve seen 5 year olds play Beethoven. And if that’s the musical future you see for your child, then this isn’t the keyboard you want to get. If you go loud, people will appreciate the clean, vintage sound the keyboard emits. As long as you practice well and play those songs smoothly.

SOUNDING OUT

The standard piano sound on the SA 77 is a bit thin. This is pretty normal considering the type of product we’re dealing with. Their main goal with the SA 77 was to create an affordable, decent-sounding keyboard that younger kids can easily use. The Casio SA-76 is a jolly good instrument, no doubt. However, it does not deliver even half the features and functions the beginner needs to begin his musical journey. The Casio SA-76 comes with 100 tones. Of course, if you’re even a smidge above the level of a piano novice, you’ll know better than to expect anything out of the world. However, the best and most dependable of all the tones is the Grand Piano sound. Directly below that are the power, volume, a digital screen that displays the tempo, tone, pattern, tuning, and song bank, a numbered keypad with a + and – buttons to easily navigate through the banks.

The sound department on this keyboard is similar to the Casio CT-X700. To me, this is a good thing. I have been raving about the sounds that Casio has been able to achieve on such small budget items. Casio managed to fit quite a bit into the little frame. The top of the keyboard is full of the shortcut numbers to the 10-song bank, 50 patterns, and 100 different tones. And then, in between the speakers, you’ll find the control interface which is also quite kid-friendly. Despite, the mini size of this keyboard, Casio has found a way to fix in a lot of buttons and knobs on the control panel. There are many fun functions on the Casio SA-76 to enjoy. You’ll find 50 different rhythms which sound wonderful enough for their function. At least, they will help your baby develop their sense of composition and rhythm as they play their keyboard. This Casio SA-76 review will highlight its features, qualities, cons, and all the amazing things about the product, plus, there will be a comparison piece against its older brother, the SA-77 keyboard. Of course, this isn’t supported by any of Casio’s world famous sound technologies like the Acoustic and Intelligent Resonator (AiR) or the Linear Morphing AiF system. But then again, you should totally expect that. This isn’t exactly one of Casio’s higher end keyboards, so that’s fine.

What's included

The SA 77 is a choice that is perfect for toddlers and beginners. It’s an extremely light-weight, and portable option that comes with a low price tag. Anyone who knows instruments has seen Casio products displayed proudly across the floor of the music shop. The biggest difference visually is the larger screen in the middle, which displays the tone, pattern, song bank, tune, and tempo in an easy to read fashion.
