The fan is loud, but is no worse than the sound of a decently powerful Graphics card trying to crunch 3D CAD files. For printer access, you can either remove a section of the sheet as needed or cut out a door and attach velcro dots to the frame to keep it closed during printing. Thanks to excellent installation instructions, setup is relatively straightforward for what is generally a fairly complex upgrade. E3D even provides STL files for a 3D printed adaptor mount and duct fan. You can shave off a few dollars by opting to print the connectors yourself using ABS, something the company facilitates by providing STL files. In practice, this means a more silent operation of the 3D printer. Because the electronics area cooling fan of the Max Neo is fairly loud, however, the printer still isn’t very silent.
Another thing to note is that just like on the Ender 3 V2 Neo, there is barely any cable management present. This leads to the aforementioned problem of the wiring flopping around the spool holder, but it also makes the Ender 3 Max Neo look messy. Once I added the Max Neo profile to Cura it was as easy to prepare models for printing as with any other 3D printer I’ve worked with.
