Now that the inside of the machine is clean and free of minerals and chemicals, it’s time to exit the descaling cycle. You need to reset the machine, so it enters the brewing mode again. Press and hold the button until the flashing light turns steady. Once again, you do this by holding the button for at least seven seconds. Now that we descaled the espresso machine there’s actually even more we could do with vinegar. We can clean the outside of the machine with vinegar! If you have some of your original mixture left over you can put some on a towel and gently wipe down your espresso machine to look shiny and new! If you don’t have any left you can make another small 1:1 mixture. All you need is a enough to dampen part of a towel. Final Thoughts On Descaling And Cleaning An Espresso Machine With Vinegar

Use filtered water:Filtered water will remove some of the minerals from hard water, making it less likely to affect the taste of your coffee. However, vinegar can’t always break down all mineral deposits, especially if you have hard water. If you've tried diluted distilled white vinegar and found that it hasn't effectively descaled your machine, you might try something a bit stronger, such as a cleaning-strength vinegar like Aunt Fannie's All Purpose 6% Distilled White Cleaning Vinegar. Lemon juice is another natural acid that can help to dissolve limescale buildup. To descale your coffee machine with lemon juice, you will need: Activate the machine to get solution through the group head. You should get about enough solution equivalent to two times the coffee boiler size of your machine. For example, if your machines has a 1.5 litre coffee boiler, you should run about 3 litres of water through the group head. HOWEVER, you cannot run this all at once as most tank models need a cool down period for the vibration pump. For every minute you run the pump active, you should give it a two (2) minute rest period. This is to avoid damage to the pump.Follow instructions on descale product to acquire proper solution ratio as most descales require a mixture with water into a mixing container/pitcher. With Citric Acid use 50 grams dissolved in the reservoir and fill with warm water to dissolve the crystals fully. If your instruction manual has instructions for descaling, please use those instructions as the primary instructions, and please use the following as secondary instructions.

Pour descaling solution into water reservoir (or on direct connect machines, pour into a large separate container). Make sure not to get any solution on any of the machine finish as it can ruin it permanently. If you do, completely wipe the solution off with a damp terry cloth. Most manufacturers recommend their own methods to descale and clean an espresso machine. Even though we recommend following their instructions descaling and cleaning an espresso machine with vinegar is another option for you. Get professional installation:If you are uncomfortable installing the filtered water appliance, hire a professional. As a specialist in descaling products, Urnez has taken the time to design a multifunctional descaler that removes and prevents limescale build-up as the others do and adds another dimension to their development by providing oil removal capacity. Remember, using clean water in your espresso machine can help minimize the concentration of dissolved minerals and calcium buildup, which can affect the taste and performance of your machine. Follow these steps to keep your espresso machine in top condition and enjoy delicious espresso every time. Post-Descaling Steps If not cleaned thoroughly, vinegar can leave that bitter taste in your coffee, and this can persist for a while and may require several rinsing cycles to restore the flavor.
