About this deal

At least four spirits are said to linger within the walls of the former farm house. Some, they say, have good intentions, others return with a vendetta. Another carving that appeared on the wall was the name of the Gower’s young son, Quinn, and as well as seeing a pregnant girl appear and disappear on the grounds of the farm, there was also a sighting of a hooded figure standing over the cot where Quinn was sleeping. As we move 24 miles North West deeper into North Wales we find ourselves at Nant Clwyd y Dre Wales’ oldest dated timber town house in Ruthin. The old woman, who given the prank that the servants had evidently played on her could be forgiven for wishing them to be as troubled as possible, appears to have been willing to let bygones be bygones. Rousing the servants, she told them what had happened.

Sightings have been reported of a woman running through Plas teg’s corridors and being followed by a man with a wound to his shoulder, this is thought to be Elizabeth and one of her two lovers. Incensed by the rejection, her spurned suitor gave chase and, having caught up with her at Newton House, murdered her in cold blood. Multiple drivers have recalled spine-tingling stories of the female hitchhiker they invited into their cars as they drove over the dark, misty summit of the Rhigos Mountain. The beautiful gardens were justly famous, and the row of yew trees, planted in the Middle Ages and which were later bent over to form an extended arch, is still wondered at today, just as it was by visitors, throughout the 19th century. Wales has long been known as the "Land of Castles" and can well and truly boast some of the most impressive and imposing fortresses in the whole of Europe. Europe's finest and most imposing medieval strongholds. Many of these imposing bastions remain as striking today as ever they did in the past, and the spectres that haunt them stands as testimony both to the violence of the age in which they were constructed and to the hundreds of years and unrest that the castles of haunted Wales of borne witness. So here ends our journey through some of North Wales’ most haunted locations. As ghost hunters we seek the unexplained so where better to do this than one of these fascinating locations. You will not be disappointed. Poltergeist activity has been frequently reported, items disappear only to reappear in a completely different place some time later. Heavy footsteps have been heard stumbling down the dark corridors. Meanwhile voices chatter as if they do not care who is listening. In addition a dark and foreboding presence has been felt in the servant’s quarters. Could this be the remnants of a disgruntled ex employee? The spirits of children frequent the hall, they are often heard playing in the many rooms.

If you want to experience this all for yourself then come with me to our first location on the haunted house’s map of haunted North Wales … Pen-y-Lan Hall, North Wales Throughout the house, the sound of loud wailing is often heard. Could this be the ghost of John Trevor V, who died sometime in the mid 18th Century? He discovered his wife’s affair, and her death came shortly after, believed to be by the hands of John. Drunk and guilt-ridden, he drove his carriage at high speed through the grounds of Plas Teg, hitting a tree and severely injuring himself. Due to his injuries, he died a slow and agonising death. The most famous entity in the Skirrid Inn isn’t one that was hanged during the trials of the courtroom, but rather a former landlady of the pub, Fanny Price. Price was the landlady of the Skirrid Inn during the 1800s and died of consumption aged just 35, her grave is a stone’s throw away from the Inn and there have been multiple sightings of Price in the pub. However, Fanny Price is reported to be a benevolent spirit, and her sightings and presence would also come with the smell of lavender. “Skirrid Inn’s noose” by andy dolman is licensed under CC BY-SA 2.0.In the 1990’s, during a live radio broadcast from the inn, a medium was asked for his impressions. He said that he sensed a young woman who had died of consumption, possibly in her early thirties. The grand staircase, situated to the left as you enter is haunted by two spectral children who sometimes appear and then disappear, but who are mostly heard rather than seen as they enjoy a ghostly game, their phantom whoops and giggles clearly audible to bemused witnesses. We have come to the last location on our Haunted Houses tour of the most haunted locations in North Wales. It is located on the Isle of Anglesey, itself famed for its mythology, mystery and abundance of ghosts and phantoms. Beaumais Gaol, North Wales Park Howard is a feature of my childhood: a sandstone mansion that sits in the middle of Llanelli’s grandest park. All around are streets full of beautiful houses, including towered follies and some incredibly unique buildings. When my older brother was young, his friends worked as gardeners in the park. I grew up on stories about a white lady who appeared in the tower window.

Over the years he has appeared to gardeners, servants and tradesmen, whilst more recently, guides at the property have heard his ghostly footsteps.

People have also reported hearing disembodied footsteps and voices as well as dark, shadowy figures walking around the castle grounds. Children are also very commonly heard around the castle, with giggling and playing being most present in the nursery, there have also been multiple reports of children leaving guided tours, and when eventually found they would say they were playing with the other children, children that are not there. But there are also said to be a number of friendly ghosts, including local clergyman Father Henry Vaughn and Fanny Price, who died of consumption when working at the inn. Llancaiach Fawr manor house located in Nelson, Caerphilly is a popular tourist attraction for people who are interested in the paranormal. The manor was thought to have been built around 1530 and has been the scene of multiple ghostly occurrences. The haunted houses of Wales present a diverse and intriguing contrast. Some are almost lost amidst lush grounds and stand hidden away from the prying eyes of all but the most intrepid ghost hunter. Others are well known tourist haunts and yet their ghost stories are only ever whispered in hushed tones for fear of offending or even raising the spirits. In fact the only possible explanation they could think of was that vibrations from the Great Hall above must be responsible. Interestingly it was just one portion of the ceiling that was affected and that section was the one directly beneath the dais where the ghostly footsteps were known to walk.
